To Everyone Who Thinks I Am More Than One Jonathan ...

I am one person, and my name isn't even Jonathan. I just used that name because i like the name thejonathans, so please stop this stuff about me being more than one person named Jonathan. this was made so that people could look at this trade idea that i came up with ... Johnny Boychuk to the oilers ... it was not made to talk about this Jonathan thing, okay?

Please Get Back On Topic ...

I didn't start it just commented on someone else's post. I would have preferred to stay on task but someone went off on a rant so off base, throwing out a bunch of false info & representing them as facts, he wasn't even close.

I'd much prefer to debate & discuss Toronto's line up like the subject heading for this blog asked.

Toronto is a great young up & coming hockey team that in the blink of an eye has completely reversed Toronto's fortunes & positioned them to be a power house in the NHL in very short order. They are in transition with numerous veterans holding down the fort & providing leadership until Babcock can get the kids integrated & playing his brand of hockey. Neither he nor Lou are just turning the keys over to the kids much to the chagrin of numerous people posting here.

Ice time will be earned, veterans will teach the youth a small # introduced each year.

Nylander may very well play with Matthews in camp awsome. Nice to have a look at part of the future in camp but Nylander will eventually be a C in the NHL. Come opening day he won't line up with Matthews. Even exhibition is meaningless. When the games start to matter what is supposed to be will be. Nylander will play with Kadri Toronto's best defensive C & Matthews will be sheltered at least until both show they are fully ready to lead as opposed to follow & can fully play the system.

As soon as they are trades will happen top start moving out the odd veteran to be replaced by the other prospects ready to move up from the Marlies. 2 out of the gate, perhaps 1 in or around Xmas no later than the All-Star break. Injuries will allow for some small opportunities until then.

My question which no 1 answered was. Does Marner get more than a 9 game cup of coffee? Do you see Toronto riding 3 rookies essentially right out of the gate past Marners 9 games? Is this a good business decision to potentially burn off a year of his eligibility in a whole range of ways, contractually;ELC, waiver, arbitration & when he achieves UFA status. Factor in They are still at least 1 if not 2 years from being a legitimate playoff team.

If this is a long term plan then wouldn't it make more sense to send Marner back to JR. Protect his rights; all those mentioned above, until next season, solidify the D & bring him in with next years batch?

Always enjoy reading your columns; always objective, polite and professional. PK was traded. There is a ton of speculation as to why...but the fact of the matter is, none of us REALLY know why. PK was the most talented player, was the hardest working player on the ice, was adorned by the city and the country. His numbers and stats were elite, his work ethic was unbelievable and his contribution to the city was unheard of. He was my favourite player since Chelios. Having said that, this trade had nothing to do with any of these reasons. I can not imagine that Geoff Molson would of allowed this trade without a valid and sane reasoning to support it. Impossible. But if I look back at the history of the Canadiens and the championship teams they built, the team culture was always team first. Always. As soon as a player sang louder that the team choir, he was set aside. Look at Chris Chelios, look at Carbonneau, look at Roy, look at Subban. All moved away from the city. The Habs are conservative, the Molson's are an old institution in Montreal and I am not really surprised with the trade. We get Weber... an old-school, elite, team oriented player & D-man that brings ONE important dimension that PK could not provide. Leadership...old-school and elite Larry Robinson/Serge Savard type of leadership, the kind of leadership that has and continues to be underwritten by the Babcock's of the world. Here is where we have to stop comparing stats because they are totally irrelevant. PK wins 99% of the stats. But where Weber does win is leadership, hands down. His leadership is proven and undeniable. So he fits the teams culture in a better way than Subban. Again, this is only my point of view but this is perhaps one of many reasons why this trade happened. Really sad to see PK go but really looking forward to watching Weber perform come September.

What a shocker !!! Who would ever think PK would make a candid one on one interviews with the media. So do not sound like PK !!!! Yeah right ...
Can you please just focus on the game of hockey once in your life and take this as a lesson in life. Maybe you should worry about your game on the ice instead of you want to appear on camera. Do not you just further proves the point of what Canadians have said all along, a distraction is not a leader by a guy character you want to be the center of attention all the time in. You need to find it in yourself nobody Cares leaders do not want the media attention as this lead and become champion.
You say that you do not want the media attention the interview again you do a sit interview on trade for media ??? Really? Nobody does this not even the greats truly get traded in our game. Tim Duncan one of the top 10 basketball players of all time retired this week with no fan fare he went out with class on top like a champion by issuing a statement. Do not call the 20 television stations as I'm sure PK will do if he finds a new cat.
You had an opportunity on one of the stages biggest hockey to excel and be a hero but you blew it. Now, 12 months from now no one will even mention that you are going to have a hard pill to swallow. But you personally put yourself in this situation, nobody else to blame, this time he did not skate sharpening guy it was not because the puck hit the ref it was because of the sense of personal greatness and I'm better then everyone attitude.
Also to further back up the point that some people seem to have trouble believing. I 100% believe that your PK was a jerk when you met him. PK is the best friend of everyone when the cameras are rolling this is only his. I was in a tennis exhibition match in Toronto a few years ago between Raonic and RodRichard and DK was in the first row and Damon Allen. I was in the front row as well, but in the corner about 20 people up to them. During the match, I saw a couple people get a picture and autograph with him. It was no problem and it was all smiles in front of the fans and camera. After the match I was in the womb from the stadium and I walk by PK Allen. I said hello pk nice to meet you, she looked at me like who the hell are you and why are you talking to me. Then he turned his head and made an eye roll in Allen and continue on like I was not even there. A few mins later I had a great conversation with Raonic and RodRichard and spoke to Serena Williams and were all happy to talk to a fan and sign an autograph. People do not know the real PK, known illusion. I could imagine what that must locker room was like. When you ok to add Radulov in the dressing room but have to get rid of PK says it all.
That I wish him all the best and hopefully down the road he can learn a lesson from all this and become a better player and leader ... end !!

bro you cant say poop about denver. Khalil mack only had a (frank)in 15 sack season and you guys only beat us because brock asswhiper doesnt know how to release the (frank)ing ball when hes about to get sacked and mack was against michael schofield who doesnt even belong in the starting line up. We have proven replacements for malik and danny even though they were very productive. Back to back champs here we go. I hope you make it to the playoffs for the first time in 15 years or some poop but theres no (frank)in way you win the afc west. You already know who the champs are. Fight for 2nd or a wild card and ill respect that.

We rented a house when we had a hockey tournament. I was going to our house we rented from the bar but the police were there. I waited for like an hour and I almost passed out while waiting for the police to get out of the house. I didn't want to passed out outside so I decided to just go inside the house. I ask the police to take it outside because I wanted to sleep. The police resisted to get out, so I ask again to get out only this time with angry voice. The other police comes and touch my chest and I ask him if that's how he introduced himself to new people he mets. He thought I was gonna fight a woman and try to move me. I got offended because he thought I was trying to fight a woman. I grab both cops on their jacket like Hulk Hogan grabbing 2 Hebners. I had both police in my hand, I was pulling and pushing simultaneously the police who thought I was going to fight a woman. Then he tackle me. I put him in the headlock after he tackle me. I release him when I saw his gun. I didn't want him to shoot me. He thought he removed himself from the headlock, he put me down and 2 police were on top of me. I told them I can bench press over 200lbs and remove 2 cops from me. Then they got me on the ground again and 2 police got 1 arm each trying to arrest me. I was telling them they were just putting 70lbs pressure each on my triceps. I was having fun telling them it was good exercise. The other police pepper spray the people who were watching and put me in camel clutch. I couldn't used my voice anymore since he was bending me too much. It took 3 or 4 cops to arrest me. Some say 3, some say 4.

Defensive keys are to keep this extremely offensively talented team at bay with little shots, and stay off the PK.
