as in what? Cowen has even less offensive ability than Schenn.

I mean its really not a matter of opinion its his stats..In 70 games he had 2 goals, 14 points and a -12 in +/- ... Im sure Cowen can rack up a 25 point season his first year.

Lehner was just picked by Sault St. Marie in the CHL import draft.

I think you are greatly misinformed. Cowen definitely has more offensive ability then Schenn.

I think you should go compare their OHL numbers.

Look at his role on the team, he's out their against the best players in the game, if he was given a more offensive role he definitely would have put up more points than that. If Schenn is going to be killing penalties while Cowen is on the PP, then obviously he can get more points than him. But comparing their OHL numbers shows that Schenn has the slight offensive edge.

While I don't necessarily disagree, why would you use those stats, instead of their stats in the same league, at the same age, when they were quite similar? Wouldn't that be a much better comparison?

Cowen's WHL stats didn't exactly beat Schenn's NHL stats by a significant margin.

Like I say, I don't completely disagree. I think Cowen's ceiling will have a little more of an offensive edge than Schenn, I don't think his defensive game will be as good as Schenn's. But I don't think their ceilings are that much different. IF he can get over his knee injuries. If not, he's in trouble. Although, these days, they can treat them extremely well.

I think you might also underestimate Schenn's offensive potential. He threaded some pretty sweet passes up ice in many games this year. I was actually pretty impressed with his ability to see the forwards streaking, and hit them tape to tape, mid-stride, this year. Long-term, I don't think a Dman in the 40 point range is impossible, while still being a top shutdown guy. But of course, he's 19. That will take some time.

Turns out you were right on this one. Stepped out of the Juniors last year, right into a Calder Cup run and now is a regular NHL top 4 D man in his rookie season.

Bound to be a solid D man for Ottawa for years to come.
