The Ottawa Senator Stanley Cup winning teams, are engraved on the Stanley Cup a number of times, no one but leaf fans care that a team, representing Ottawa, was not a continuous franchise or whatever you're making a big deal about.

It would be like making a big deal about ownership changes, or some other stupid innocuous point.

If Stanley Cup winning teams that won before the NHL was formed, don't count, then why have the names of those teams not been removed?

Suffice it to say they count just as much as any Cup won after the NHL was formed.

The NHL recognizes the Eleven Stanley Cup Champions banners that Hang in the CTC rafters.

Thanks for the list, proves what an imbecile you are. As I clearly stated, the NHL came into existence in 1917. Prior to that the tournament which was usually a goal total series of two or three games, was of significantly less importance when many amateur and beer league teams competed. The Montreal teams that won a significant number of those tournaments some amateur teams some semi-pro and some beer league teams are not listed in Montreal Canadiens list of 24 stanley cups. And although it pains me to say that the Habs have the bragging rights for most cups, only a moron like you would pretend that the Ottawa Senators win in 1902-03 (an 8 game season followed by a 2 game playoff) rates as a stanley cup win.

To be fair, there was ownership change for the leafs in that period.... so they're disqualified

So Erik Karlsson, was not injured late in the season, missing a game or two, and did not play injured the entire three rounds of the playoffs, in your mind.

And Mark Borowiecki was not injured in the second game of the first round, and never got back into the line up, in your mind.

Alex Burrows did not suffer a high ankle sprain and did not miss any games in the playoffs, in your mind.

Also Cody Ceci , did not have his finger broken a few times in the three rounds of the playoffs, in your mind.

Viktor Stalberg did not suffer a rib injury, and did not miss any games, in your mind.

Derick Brassard did not injury his shoulder, and did not play through the injury, in your mind.

Mark Stone did not injure his leg, in your mind.

Ryan Dzingel did not injure his wrist, in your mind.

Marc Methot did not have his finger hacked off, and miss any games, or did he play through the playoffs injured either, in your mind.

There are more, but in your mind, only the teams that Ottawa played, suffered injuries, and had players missing from their roster ........... and Ottawa was perfectly healthy from start to finish ................. right?

The Ottawa Senators moved to St. Louis in 1934 after suffering losses of $60,000 over the previous two seasons.

The St. Louis Eagles finished last in the 1934-35 NHL season and folded.

Many players from the Senators played amateur senior league after the NHL team moved, and that "Senators" amateur team folded in 1954.

This team has nothing to do with those teams, and to pretend it does is ridiculous.

The Senators were rebuilt last year around Karlsson. Not many people realize how good they were once they hit the third period. I believe the Senators are more like the team that we saw in the playoffs rather than the regular season.

I believe the Sens fight with Tampa for 1st in the Division. Talk is fun...but scoreboard begins in a little over three weeks.

Rebuilt? Must have missed that. And like I've said already, Anderson's play will make or break their season. If he plays well they might finish 3rd in the division. If not, probably a 5th place finish.

A team with no offense certainly needs top end goaltending on top of good defensive play in order to make the playoffs, yes. Anderson is really good though. Odds are he won't be an issue.

He'll need to change his pattern of following up a good season with a mediocre one.

Ottawa can't win without elite level goaltending.

And Ottawa was icing a roster of 100% completely healthy players, no one starter was sitting out games due to injury, and they ALL were in the best physical condition of their lives ..........not one player had a scratch, a bruise or any type of measurable pain.

Are you seriously going to compare your injuries for one (frank)ing second to Pittsburgh's?

or Boston's

Seriously?

Do you think we are all so stupid we just forgot about the past playoffs and what really went down.

Are you so far (frank)ing gone now that you're pulling the Spatso on us and just making poop up as you go while ignoring FACTS.

My good friend gluckey thinks that only the Bruins, Rangers and Penguins had injured players missing, and injured players playing well below par, and that, and that alone was the only reason the Senators came within one goal, in double overtime of the seventh game in the Eastern Conference Finals.

I know it's been a long long long time since the leafs were able to win a round in the playoffs .............. so he probably doesn't realize that ALL teams that go as deep into the playoffs, as the Senators have (twice in the last decade) also had their fair share of injuries.

Rangers were reasonably healthy.

Boston was MISSING 3 D-men. That isn't "playing with nagging injuries", which every team in the playoffs has. That is out-right missing.

Pittsburgh was MISSING their #1 Goalie for half the series for Christsakes.
they were MISSING their #1 Dman, and a top-5 Dman overall in the league for the entire series.
Crosby played the series concussed, everybody knows it. He was completely not himself for at least the first 4 games.
I think Pittsburgh was also MISSING another top-4 dman.

For the record Erik Karlsson was just fine. He was perfectly OK until the cameras were on him then he was in the world's worst agony.

the other Sens injuries were of no consequence compared to the Boston or Pittsburgh injuries.

How you can even deny that the Sens were gifted huge breaks from opponent's injuries, is incredible. It is not like Leafs fans are the only ones who feel this way.

I'm glad someone else noticed how he was perfectly fine until they had close up cameras on him. Even then, half the time he was fine until he realised he was on camera.

I thought you knew better than that.

Can you explain why he needed surgery at the end of the playoffs, if he was "perfectly OK"?

Karlsson was badly injured just before the playoffs started, and even missed three games.

Karlsson played the entire postseason with fractures in his left foot, he was forced to miss the third period of game 5 vs the Rangers, and in fact re-injured the same foot in game 5 vs the Pens, and missed part of the second period, and did not return for the third period.

I wonder, did you see how "perfectly OK" he was at the NHL awards?

"You can't help but respect a player like that that plays in a ton of situations and just seems to be so effective and make it look it easy at times even when it was known that he was injured and he was playing through it," said Ryan McDonagh, whose New York Rangers lost to the Senators in the second round. "I've played through injuries similar to my foot, too, in past playoffs. It was pretty incredible to see the things he was able to do."
