ive said the sens had a good season and a great Cinderella run in the playoffs. Despite that i feel the Leafs are in a better situation over all as a team.

this thread is about which team is in a better situation. not who had a better season. sens had the better season, leafs have the better situation.

its simple do0Opps. you going into the past was your own doing and it back fired on you. just like your use of the word "laud" back fired. and like how you thought the leafs never played in an ecf when they did. all your own doing.

So it's all about your opinion .............. and you as a leaf fan will always see the leafs in a better situation ........... as you did when they finished dead freaking last in the league ........ so it's pointless to discuss this with you ............ as there is no scenario, in your spinning mind, when you could ever bring yourself to entertain the fact that perhaps, just maybe, the Senators would be in a better situation.

I'll bet that if the Senators had advanced to the Finals and won the Cup, even then you would not have the ability to state that they were in a better situation, even if they were circling the ice, passing the Cup around.

what happened to lists?

they didnt win a cup. sit down old man. your hypothetical scenarios are just silly talk.

Yes even dead last they were in a better situation. there is more than jist on ice performance that comprises a teams situation.

leafs have better owners, better management, better coaching, more depth, more skill, more youth, more money. but there was a rebuilding process they stuck to that called for some on ice set backs to get into the better situation. rhese are all facts.

the hockey world knows the leafs are in a better situation. so do you. but unlike you i dont need you to agree to it for it to be true.

I guess we will never know about your last comment about the Sens winning the cup. The operative word there is "never".

when your team goes into a season where the head coach tells the fans and media "there will be pain" the team obviously is aware they dont expext to win many games. Part of a bigger plan and process. Paid off in spades.

Sens fans enjoying their last gasp at being able to claim superiority over the Leafs.

They are making dumber arguments every day. It must be tough to fight the good fight when the painful reality is cock-slapping you in the face.

The Ottawa Senators are a team in the National Hockey League that has played since 1992.
Ottawa Senators can also refer to:
Ottawa Senators (CWHL) - current CWHL team
Ottawa Jr. Senators - junior-level team, founded in 1980.
Ottawa Senators (original) - History of Ottawa Hockey Club, senior-level team which played from 1883, and operated as the NHL Senators until 1934. (1883–1954).
Ottawa Senators (senior hockey) - Second phase of Ottawa Hockey Club, senior-level amateur/semi-pro team, which won the Allan Cup in 1949. (1934–1954)
Ottawa Senators (FHL) - professional team which played in 1908–09.

Historically Speaking - and we are going back a long way here. Technically, Ottawa won 4 stanley cups when they played in the NHL (formed in 1917) Prior to 1917 cannot be included as it was a 2 or 3 game goal total challenge not a championship.

That would mean the cups won by Ottawa Senators were in 1920, 21, 23 and 27. Early cups were various formats, 1920 and 21 were 5 games and 23 and 27 were only 3 games. These are facts that cannot be denied.

Now, you were mocking Leafs and their fans who have not won a cup in 50 years, 1927 would put the Sens drought at 90 years. And your fair share of cups?????????

Please ....... Wake UP!

Further the current Senators have nothing to do with original Senators. The Leafs have had a continuous professional team in Toronto for 100 years. Have the Quebec Nordiques won a stanley cup? - The Avalanche were the Nordiques weren't they? (not including the 1912 and 13 pre NHL cups)

I'd honestly be shocked if they made the playoffs this season.

I think there's 3/4 teams in our division better than them and more than that in the Metro.

They're only as good as their goaltending and I can't see how Anderson can play as well as he did last season. And Condom definitely can't.

The Senators were rebuilt last year around Karlsson. Not many people realize how good they were once they hit the third period. I believe the Senators are more like the team that we saw in the playoffs rather than the regular season.

I believe the Sens fight with Tampa for 1st in the Division. Talk is fun...but scoreboard begins in a little over three weeks.

Agreed. The senators are definitely the team we saw in the playoffs, that was only able to win against teams decimated by injury.

This likely has to do with the complete lack of talent in the forward group, a d-corps that features a guy who'd be bottom pairing on most teams as their second best defender(making 7Mil!) and a tight budget that prevents improvement.

Not to mention a dearth of young talent at all positions.

We can all agree with this.

The Ottawa Senator Stanley Cup winning teams, are engraved on the Stanley Cup a number of times, no one but leaf fans care that a team, representing Ottawa, was not a continuous franchise or whatever you're making a big deal about.

It would be like making a big deal about ownership changes, or some other stupid innocuous point.

If Stanley Cup winning teams that won before the NHL was formed, don't count, then why have the names of those teams not been removed?

Suffice it to say they count just as much as any Cup won after the NHL was formed.

That's what I said!

Good job!

- Feeling Glucky?

So Erik Karlsson, was not injured late in the season, missing a game or two, and did not play injured the entire three rounds of the playoffs, in your mind.

And Mark Borowiecki was not injured in the second game of the first round, and never got back into the line up, in your mind.

Alex Burrows did not suffer a high ankle sprain and did not miss any games in the playoffs, in your mind.

Also Cody Ceci , did not have his finger broken a few times in the three rounds of the playoffs, in your mind.

Viktor Stalberg did not suffer a rib injury, and did not miss any games, in your mind.

Derick Brassard did not injury his shoulder, and did not play through the injury, in your mind.

Mark Stone did not injure his leg, in your mind.

Ryan Dzingel did not injure his wrist, in your mind.

Marc Methot did not have his finger hacked off, and miss any games, or did he play through the playoffs injured either, in your mind.

There are more, but in your mind, only the teams that Ottawa played, suffered injuries, and had players missing from their roster ........... and Ottawa was perfectly healthy from start to finish ................. right?

The Ottawa Senator Stanley Cup winning teams, are engraved on the Stanley Cup a number of times, no one but leaf fans care that a team, representing Ottawa, was not a continuous franchise or whatever you're making a big deal about.

It would be like making a big deal about ownership changes, or some other stupid innocuous point.

If Stanley Cup winning teams that won before the NHL was formed, don't count, then why have the names of those teams not been removed?

Suffice it to say they count just as much as any Cup won after the NHL was formed.

So if I get this right you can laud the fact that the Sens won cups over 100 years ago but we can't laud the 13 cups the Leafs have won since.
