Sorry, but you've been fooled into thinking the leafs have passed Tampa, by virtue of having more points, and having played two more games than Tampa.

In order to "pass" Tampa, they'd have to have a higher Points Percentage ( "true standings") than Tampa.

.589 > .578

Tampa has 14 home games remaining, while the leafs only have nine.

I like Tampa's chances of finishing ahead of the leafs.

Take a look at their respective remaining schedules and you wouldn't be so quick to be counting your chickens before they hatch.

When they have a better P% than Tampa, that is when they've caught and passed them.

Like I said earlier, I like Tampa's chances of finishing ahead of the leafs. How about you? Are you trying to say the leafs will finish the season ahead of Tampa in the Division?

At this point of this season, the leafs are ahead of the Senators in the standings. The Senators don't have enough games left to catch and pass the teams ahead of them, with the exception of the leafs, who traditionally choke in the last quarter of the season.

Ask me again at the end of the season, as I suspect the two teams will be a lot closer in the standing than they are to day.

If you'd like more money spent on the team, why not ask him to raise ticket, parking and concession prices?

Our is pathetic,we gave the 5th pick to edm to retain 50% of his remaining salary. He keeps saying we are losing money despite ,lots of signs pointing to the opposite. No team can compete when you are at the bottom in terms of payroll,we arent the exception to that rule

He is NOT losing money. The team as a separate entity is what he is claiming is losing money. His team is charged rent to play at an arena the he owns, so it's all semantics when he talks about the team losing money.

BTW Colorado is spending less than the Senators on their team's payroll, are are comfortably sitting in a playoff spot today. So a "team can compete when you are at the bottom in terms of payroll".

BTW the Sens Payroll is (today) $56,312,194 not 52 Million

It is what it is, and complaining about it does nothing. Not saying I'm happy about it, but the owner has every right to run his operations as he sees fit.

This team could have been much more than it is right now,we had cap good group of assets, and a falling cap .Everything was in place for us to make some real headway ,but instead we watch alfie leave pissed off and were told we were over budget at 52 (frank)in million.

EM needs a monster offseason ,or the fans wont show .Ottawa has had too many wannabe rich guys that talk a big game ,but run when its time to open the cheque book

Hemsky (2.5) is not making the difference between 52 Million and 56.3 Million, and Conacher's money is also off the books.
