So is declaring a move by an opponent as a poor decision, yet claiming the same move by your team is a sign of progress. Especially when the kids your team is adding are substantially less talented than the kids the Leafs added last season. Substantially.
- BetterCallSaul

I am not grasping your point.

I am not hostile to the Leaf player development program. I was a supporter of the Shannaplan long before Shanahan was hired by the Leafs. I am hostile to the triumphalism of Leaf fans who are in a constant state of premature escalation of expectations.

Dorion completely misplayed is hand.

The Ducks and hawks have been working on deals for a while to protect their assets. deals that sound like got consummated just this week.

Dorion relied on the hope the dion would waive, and made it public.

He’s now in a desperate mad scramble to recover assets, trying to blow up every GM's phone in the league. Other GM’s will smell blood on pounce on the weakest GM in the league.

- Tumbleweed

This is false ............ there were tons of speculation that He would be asked.......... but you can't show me anything released by the GM that Dion has asked to waive ........... it came from Dion or his agent.

Please take over. I want to spend an evening with Mrs Spatso.

The Leafs are being represented by the B team again tonight. Perhaps they are the Russian trolls hired by Trump. They are not particularly entertaining or challenging. Do your best.

Take up the quarrel with the foe.
To you from failing hands we throw

Sorry it is what it is.

Ottawa has a really strong prospect pool.

That is a reality.

The Leafs don't have much talent left in their prospect pool as they have moved prospects quickly into their system. We will see if Leafs pay a price for their lack of patience.

- spatso

They jumped from 30th to 14th in one season .............. so next season they will finish 1st overall ..........right?

The results were that the Sens were the only team after 82 games to have more goals given up than scored to make the playoffs. Who is ignoring results?
- systemtool

So just how did they end up in the ECF, game 7, double overtime and one goal from returning to the Stanley Cup Finals, for the second time in 10 seasons?

They must have won a game or two somewhere?????

Not going to waste my time talking to trollonto fans, who only listen to fake news ...... I've better things to do.

Just remember that the Senators advancing tot he ECFs and coming within one goal of the Finals, totally RATTLED these trolls beyond belief ..... and the PROOF is all these posts, denying the reality they desperatly want to erase from their minds ............. but they can't................. so trollonto fans, keep on posting, the more you post, the wider our grins become!!!

Don’t feel bad.

It’s a fairly straight-forward point. But you’re doing your best.

Perhaps you were not aware that the meaning of protege takes is not based on the skill of the young person. Rather, the word merely identifies the person under the patronage, protection, or care of someone interested in his or her career or welfare. Chabot is a prodigy merely by the fact that the Senators value him over all their other prospects.

Really! Ottawa makes playoffs and goes to ECF.

Ottawa has planet's best Dman in Karlsson.

Ottawa has best Dman outside NHL in Chabot.

Dealing Chabot is not an option for Ottawa. They'd still need to deal or find a way to protect Methot.

I think that is a really important accomplishment and Boucher spoke regularly about it. If you remember the year before the Sens scored a lot of goals and had a positive goal differential at the end of the season and, yet, still missed the playoffs. This year the goal was to lower GA which they did significantly.

Boucher implemented a system that he expected would be successful in the playoffs. He was entirely correct. He is confident the Sens will be stronger in the regular season next year now that the players will start the year fully in control of the system they want to play.

I think expectations in Ottawa next year will be higher than they have been in more than 10 years. They have a solid base with great young talent coming into the system.

Yes, yes, we already know all that stuff. Nashville was an 8th place team that should have gone out in the first round. Pittsburg was not a great possession team and would not get past Washington. Boston was the best possession team in the playoffs and should easily eliminate Ottawa. Ottawa had a negative goal differential and would not win a game.

Boring, we play the game in 60 minutes segments and overtime when necessary. The team with the most goals inside the designated time wins. We follow the rules!

- spatso

Pittsburgh was around 50% middle of the league, Nashville was 6th in possession.
Both had positive goal differentials. Boston had an AHL defense for rd1
The NHL standings are very much a mirage in regards to who is the better teams. The margins now are so small when you are talking about the middle teams.

Nashville was 8th but anyone who looked could see they were better than that, they had a slow start. I picked them to make the finals.

What we are seeing now with Possession and Corsi is the difference between team 5th and 16th (Pittsburgh) is 1.5% Very little separating those teams.

unless the impossible happens, and a leaf GM wins it, then it will be the heralded as the greatest leaf moment since May 2nd 1967
