hockeyanalysis.com has them 20th.

Why would different sites have different Corsi numbers??? They use NHL stats, dont they? i.e. for shot attempts and blocks.

I am not looking to see what has already happened. I want to see how my team has really preformed and how likley they are to be successful going forward.

Also I find it odd how you say 1 stat cant explain everything and then try to use 1 stat to explain it.

For me corsi provokes thought and further analysis. It doesn’t provide answers on its own.

The fact that LA ran with backups for 2/3 of the year and boston got echl level backup goaltending and a down year from rask lead to under-performance imo.

It’s easy to write LA/boston off as too old and past their prime. But LA with a healthy quick and boston with improved play from their backup goaltending and a bounce back season from rask could have very different seasons next year.

Very strange - I swear, I saw the same thing Spazzo did. I show 13th now as well.

God damn, those Leafs were even better than I thought.

I see both the Bruins and leafs pushing their respective series to seven games today/tonight.

refs will let a lot of things go, with whistles placed in pockets for the most part.

nah. hedman and doughty are better.
- prock

I am not even sure I would trade Karlsson for Hedman AND Doughty.

He is generational. This year he has had a better commitment to Defense and even has a physical edge to his game.

Honestly, the guy is absolutely dominant. No other dman is in the same league.

So if you remove the best player off of every team, the impact would be similar.

Last time I checked, NHL hockey, is a team game, and Karlsson, and other teams' "best players" are part of their respective teams .............. so not sure what you're trying to prove hear, with Karlsson .......... but I think it holds true for every playoff team.

Crosby
Price
Lundqvist
Ovechkin
Matthews
Tarasenko
Burns
Forsberg
McDavid

I don't think the effect is nearly as severe if you remove Ovechkin, Matthews, Forsberg and maybe not even Crosby, as good of a season as he is having.

I think you add to Karlsson for either of those guys.

Though maybe both our perceptions are flawed because he hasn't had the opportunity to play for a strong team.

On one hand, he may look better if there was anyone else for other teams to focus on. On the other hand, he may look better than he is, contrasted against the dearth of talent on that team.

With that in mind though, I think the question worth asking becomes, will he re-sign with Ottawa, or will he go to a team with the willingness to build a winner during his career?

I think the idea of trading hedman and doughty for karlson is just flat out stupid. any d with those two in it, one in each line, is among the best in the league. any d playing with either of them always looks good. imagine two top lines rolling out one after the other, with two guys that can cover the whole game together at even strength. then pair them up for either a PP or a PK and there dominant. quite clearly a defense with just karlson can be flat out garbage, as we know for certain.

I think our friendly leaf poster shot feel stupid for posting that.

nope. hedman and doughty, each one being arguably the best dman in the league, together, for karlson, there really is no way to defend that position. it's just plain stupid.

Props to the Sens for beating the Bruins.

Genuinely did not think they had it in them.

I've said all along, 50/50.......... and all the PPs vs the NHL's #1 PK was hard to watch, thought any luck there might have been was running out, and was beginning to believe game 7 was going to happen.

Bobby Ryan, 4 goals in the series ............

It's true, but I think it's safe to say Ottawa was the underdog, even with the Bruins' injuries.

good thing they faced the Bruins back up goaltender for all 6 games, and did not lose anyone to injury, and not need to play any AHLers

What a great day for hockey. Cheered hard for Montreal and sorry to see them go. Hope Leafs hang in and take it to game 7.

Literally the only thing the Sens could do these playoffs to be in a better position is win the cup. Which they won't.
