Sens fans went ballistic with the advanced stats. In part because they liked that it made them look good.

As I say, give the Leafs top 6 five shots each, give the Sens top 6 ten shots each, and I take the Leafs group to score more goals every time. Awesome, CORSI, lots of shots. That's because their junk group of forwards take three or four rebouneds to bury the puck whereas Kessel, Lupul, JVR, bury it the first time.

And their D. It's horrid. One elite offensive Dman who is completely inept in his own zone, a decent defensive guy, and the rest filled it with guys that belong in the AHL.

Yeah, they needed their goaltending to play WAY above their heads to win games last year. And it still just barely got them a playoff spot.

Got in a "disagreement" with a Canucks mod, and he decided to female dog my out by PM, at which point I informed him a few things about his sexual orientation and such, and that gave me a vacation.

I'll have some nice Canucks posts shortly. The prospect thread deserves a visit. I love how they're trying to justify trading away their starting goalie, by thinking Horvat is something special. He really hasn't stood out in the OHL this year. They were talking about him playing for the big team this year. What a crock of $hit. He's a B level prospect that will require at least a few years to make the NHL, if he ever does.

Granted, if you look at their bottom six (and parts of their top 6 for that matter), it really shouldn't be hard to make that team. Some serious roster filler in there. Man, Gillis has absolutely destroyed anything that team ever had. That's a sinking ship if I've ever seen one.

Always the same week each year.........pay attention.

As a leaf fan you may appreciate this........we met former leaf Bob Nevin at the sports bar we go to in MB, with his wife, watching the leaf game last Tuesday. Cool guy, lots of great stories.

Must be kind of a slap in the face for a fan to see them at 15th, with a higher 2012-2013 revenue than 18 teams and three non-playoff teams ahead of them in revenue, refusing to spend and shedding salary.

Ottawa's revenues are up this season, and with the new 12 year Rogers TV deal any " financial situation" that you're thinking about is not worth even acknowledging. Mostly wishful thinking on your part perhaps.

didnt ottawa offer half their home games last year as 2 for 1 deals? so ya revenue is up because last year was such a write off coming out of the lockout

Don't have a clue about what you're talking about.

All I know is that despite the lower attendance, revenues are actually up this season due to fewer Saturday night games, and more Saturday afternoon games, Sunday games and Friday night games. Television revenues from these games are higher than being on HNIC.

Plus these are fewer "comps" being given to season ticket holders this season than in previous seasons and in fact the number of season tickets is up to 12,100 this season as well, more than the 11000 last season.

Here are the true standings in the Atlantic Division as of right NOW!

Boston--------- .704
Tampa Bay---- .635
Detroit.------- .611
Montreal------ .611
toronto--------- .574
Ottawa-------- .462
Florida--------- .352
Buffalo--------- .250

Chances will make playoffs as of right now.

Boston--------- 99.4 %
Montreal------ 95.4 %
Tampa Bay---- 92.1 %
Detroit.-------84.8 %
toronto--------- 68.5 %
Ottawa-------- 22.4%
Florida--------- 0.4 %
Buffalo--------- 0%

One week ago toronto had a 90.7% chance of making the playoffs, and have had the largest drop in the division this past week. Their biggest competitors for the wild-card spot they currently hold are from the Metropolitan division.

Ottawa now has to pass at least four other teams in order to get into the playoff picture. They would need win approximately 30 to 35 of their remaining 56 games to have a real shot at clinching a playoff spot.

I hear one of the leafs first round picks is one of the leading scores for the Dallas Stars, and has a higher PPG than Kessel.

Also there is another leaf first rounder that is leading the St Louis Blues in scoring as well, and he's also third overall int he NHL to boot.
