What should the NHL do???
- twiztedmike

if i'm the NHL the only time i'm allowing NHL players to play in the olympics is when they're held in North America. that's the only way they have a chance to make a little money off of it, plus it's the only time it will be in a convenient time zone for NHL fans (a large majority of which live in North America) to watch the games. the nhl stands to gain NOTHING from allowing it's players to play in korea or china the following olympics.

as a fan, i know i'm not getting up at 3 in the morning to watch hockey.....no matter who's playing.

i hope the olympics goes back to truly being an "amateur" event.....no more NHL or NBA players....hell, take all pro athletes from all sports out, soccer, golf, tennis, etc, etc. any athlete who's making millions of dollars shouldn't be allowed to compete in teh olympics IMO.

Cool. I get 10% of each if their earnings.

Sounds like i'm doubling up.

I found it interesting that an untalented or....uninspired habs team beat the sens back to back. interesting.

I think the Sens can beat any team in a best of 7. Habs, Caps, Pens, all of them. I say this because they have played close games against them in the regular season and the playoffs are exactly the same as the regular season. This winter talk is fun. Thanks for the chat.

Guys, the Sens were completely exhausted on Sunday's game vs the Habs, having played the night before vs the Habs. It was a completely unfair matchup, the Habs were more well rested, having only played a warm-up the night before against the Sens.

Thats the timeline if its going to happen yes

Take Chicago...the comparisons are fun

Miss playoffs 9/10 years
2006 - Toews
2007 - Kane
2008 - Missed playoffs but big jump in points
2009 - Long playoff Run
2010 - Won Cup

Miss playoffs 10/11 years
2015 - Marner
2016 - Matthews
2017 - Missed playoffs but big jump in points
2018 - ?
2019 - ?

Obviously a lot of things to happen for the Leafs, building depth and finding a Solid top pairing D. Not an easy task but not impossible

This is the best post in the history of this God forsaken hell hole

The comparisons were being made during the Game sat as well.

Also Q. talked about it.

Babcock: "Q told me this morning, 'you guys remind me of us 9 years ago.'" But Leafs coach smiled. Lots of work ahead to be the next Chicago

I think the 4 losses show the effect of not having Mark Stone in the line up. He is arguably their best forward.

So far the Senators have played at a .606 rate ......... so if they slip down to .500 over their remaining 11 games, they'll end up with 97 points........ more than enough to remain in the playoffs .......... if they play below .500, then they don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Yes. Losing your only real offensive tool at forward, when you don't have any other offensive tools to roll with is definitely the problem.

Interesting stuff from Dellow.. not that we didnt already know that, but the Leafs sheltered Phanuef before shipping him out.

he really got some tough minutes with Carlyle..A big reason why the Leafs sucked.

dellowhockey‏ @dellowhockey
Red line is league average. Such an interesting decision with Phaneuf last year for the Leafs as far as competition. Worked out for them.

dellowhockey‏ @dellowhockey
"Star percentage" is a measure of QoC. So they sheltered him like crazy and were able to move him.

dellowhockey‏ @dellowhockey Mar 18
He's...he's a $7M second pairing defenceman who gets outshot and outscored. Who's 31. With four more years.

He needs to stop trying to spell intense while he's skating, it's slowing him down.
