That looks very good.

The playoffs last year were entirely awful. Nobody to cheer for. Not even anybody to cheer against. I did not watch a single playoff game last year.

If the Leafs make the playoffs I would watch. Probably cheer for them as long as they were not playing against another Canadian team or a team located within the continental borders of the USA. At least I would have some motivation for cheering.

You cannot include the Canadiens. Their fans are way too sensitive. If you say mean things about their team they immediately run to the moderators and complain about trolling and all kinds of awful stuff like name calling, boo hoo.

This thread has been moderator free for a very long time. Montreal fans would not last a day before they start asking for help.

Think about how successful we have been in rehabilitating Prock into a respectable and informative blogger. Do not need the whining of Canadiens supporters.

We are moving into stage II of a typical blue koolaid summer. Fans are beginning to notice the stories being floated that Marner might not be fit enough or ready for NHL prime time. Leafs are a last place team, they are sort of like a very young Edmonton crew of last year without McDavid.

But Leaf fans are great hockey fans and now that the silly summer chatter is winding down, they are getting around to a more balanced level of hockey discussion. We will see the Stage III early season euphoria when they win a few games at the beginning of the season and the Toronto based media predicts good things for them. But the Stage III crash into despair will come like clockwork in early December. Stage IV acceptance of reality will include some anger and frustration but it is not long lasting. And, come early March, Stage I starts again with a high degree of hopefulness as speculation of the guaranteed Tavares signing gets ramped up and fans discuss the great potential of the impending lottery and draft.

Chasing a Captain out of town???

Isn't this a toronto thing?

Who was the last toronto Captain finished his career as a leaf?

How long after a former Captain of the leafs finished playing for another team, did it take for the leafs to retire his number, or whatever they do in toronto?

Well, Phaneufs career ended in Toronto. Or did you mean actually stop playing games? He'd be the last one.

You're confusing dumped with chased out of town. Phaneufs Game had gone so far downhill that the Leafs were better off without him. that's quite clear. they chose to dump him.

spezza wanted out, has been a first line centre elsewhere. Alfredsson was a long time captain that chose to leave. both were definitely chased out. Phaneuf was dumped.

selective interpretation on your part.

But I see you're having a hard time remembering the last leaf captain who retired (from the NHL) as their Captain.

Also see you're avoiding the hard math, to show who was the last leaf Captain, who finished his NHL career with another team, to have his number retired/honoured, by the leafs.

He did not finish his career with the leafs, therefore was not the captain of the leafs when he retired.

Did he sign a one day contract with the leafs so that he could retire as a leaf?

I'm not sure what relevance Sundin has to the Sens running their captains out of town.

the Leafs were trying to start a rebuild. The Sens are not. It made sense for the Leafs to try get assets to rebuild with.

Sundin was supposedly part of the "Muskoka 5", all players that not only did not get chased out of town, they refused to leave.

that is possibly the worst possibly comparison you could have come up with, to the previous two Sens contents, who have either requested trade, or signed elsewhere, due to discontent with the franchise.

You took your usual cheap shot at the Senators, claiming they run their Captains out of town, without realizing that the leafs have been doing, what you claim the Sens have done, for decades.

Either you slipped up, or stupid......... I believe the former, and asked you when was the last leafs Captain that retired as a Captain for the leafs......... I thought it might be George Armstrong, but he was only Captain until 1969, but continued to play for the leafs until 1971.

So I guess it was Ted Kennedy, but was not the Captain when he retires in 1955....................... But, he came out of retirement one year later, and the then Captain Jim Thomson insisted he take the captaincy for the 1956, 1957 season, and then retired again.

I wonder who would win in a fight. I think Prock is crazier but D0pps has the conspiracy theorist survival aspect to him.

Hopefully they both have pets as side kicks. Makes things more interesting. I'd assume Procks pet is a hippo. D0pps pet would be a squirrel.
