So what I said.

Karlsson is the reason your below average team doesn't look like a terrible team.

Good luck competing on one player's back!

- Feeling Glucky?

Great players seek the responsibility. As good as Karlsson is and he is a phenomenal player, the team still has not yet fully taken advantage of his remarkable talent.

Think about it. Ottawa was top 10 in scoring but struggled on the power play. Once Turris went down the power play crashed, everyone except for Karlsson was a shooter There was no support for being able to hit the open man.Ottawa has great shooters and they are better for the added playmaking support.

Understanding and observing projection is relatively simple. When someone is adamant about wanting another person to own a feeling or a behaviour, merely observe the pattern. If, for example, a person is strongly polarized in their views on homosexuality and are intent on identifying people with unresolved sexual identity issues it is likely a statement about their own uncertainty or lack of comfort with their own sexual self. So, for example, the preacher who is always lashing out about the evils of same sex marriage may, in fact, regularly act out (escape) in same sex encounters. His weekly rants (sermons) can be understood as being a reflection of a deeply embedded rejection of his own sexual self.

Now, so tell us again, about all these angry Sens fans. And, perhaps, you might also like to share with us your psycho sexual history in order that we can better understand the underlying sentiment behind your hostile reactions to others.

- spatso

No. I won't say it again. Because I don't need you to tell me about your sexual confusion and issues. Stay angry

I wonder what it says about a guy who trolls other teams who have first overall picks. I'd say envy. Jealousy. And sexual confusion.

I would also like some clarification on who "us" is.

Yes, I think that is the part that really needs a better understanding. This year the US junior team will have three very strong centres including Colin White who is scheduled to captain the team, Keller and Logan Brown who will make the US a force at this year's tournament.

I think both Chabot and Englund get serious ice time with the Senators this year and if Chabot does play for team Canada I assume he will wear a letter and play 1D for them.

Given the depth of Ottawa roster players that are available to play center and the number of really good prospects in the system, nobody should be surprised that Zibanejad was moved.

I assume this deal was the backup plan to a deal with Denver for Matt Duschene.

Guy Bouchard coached both Brassard and Hoffman in junior. I think this trade has Bouchard's fingerprints all over it. I think he wants to build the best power play possible around Karlsson. Brassard (left shooting passer) and Hoffman are key pieces in that plan.

Short term Ottawa is better because of this trade. Long term I think Zibanejad still has a strong upside. But Dorion is very high on Colin White and Logan Brown and it could be that he does not see Zibanejad growing into the #1 role.

As frustrating as Zibanejad's puck management can be there are times that you think he can be an outstanding player.

Love the addition of Brassard another local player (like Pageau, Methot and Borwiecki). But sorry to see Zibanejad go.

- spatso

How did they get better shirt term? They didn't get better offensively, defensively or physically. All they did was get older and cheaper salary.

We have to cut Spatso some slack.

He was so distraught that the Leafs sucked, that he gave up being a Leafs fan to become a Sens fan.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be for him to even get out of bed in the morning at this point. It is difficult to imagine living with life choices that are that stupid.

We should all be appreciative that he can even muster up the will to make a contribution here, such as it is.

Do you mean like the 2013 second-round pick, 2013 fourth-round pick and 2014 fourth-round pick the leafs gave up, when they traded for Dave Bolland?

Perhaps you're referring to the trade of the leafs 2011 first-round pick (Rickard Rakell) and a 2011 second-round pick (John Gibson) for 2011 first-round pick (Tyler Biggs)?

Or maybe you're thinking of the trade for Phil Kessel, that saw the leafs trade their first round pick (Tyler Seguin) and second round pick (Jared Knight) in 2010 and a first-round pick (Dougie Hamilton) in 2011?

Crazy talk.

Dorion has added Chris Kelly and Brassard. Clearly he wants a stronger veteran presence in the middle. Ottawa plans on building this team around Karlsson and making a run now.

Congratulations. You just proved why the Sens are the leafs of 5 years ago. Good luck with that. Bringing in veterans to compliment a non playoff team.

Or the 2nd round pick Ottawa traded to get Phaneuf?

He means Ottawa I believe. Trading picks and youth for guys close to or in their 30s. See the Phaneuf model. And Brassard. Ignore the horrid goaltending. We're the worst team defensively but we got alot of goals! Remember those days?

Leafs have lost a ton of talent in the past year that they haven't/can't replace

Bernier pap Matthias ect haven't been replaced with younger more skilled players apparently.

The irony is so thick in here, it's hilarious.....

Spatso spouting off about leaf fans talking in the summer (still have yet to see evidence of this), then proceeds to claim that this lateral trade (that hurts your future) is the one that puts the sens in a position to make a run.

Zibby ,really isnt anything special dude .He is Lars Eller that got to play with better wingers .Is he a bust ??hard to say but as far as 6th OA draft picks he was very meh .People look at his point totals from last season and say he has improved year to year .But fail to look at how much more ice time he received. This season ,which over a min and a half ...he scored 5 more points,he was a stalled player .That we had in our system for 5 seasons .

He isnt going to wake up and remember he is a superstar,so we moved on .

He isnt lying ,we have been after a left handed center for some time .We have been rumored to be asking about him last season, the price was probably too high .And never came down

The exact opposite. Ottawa is top 10 in scoring because of Karlsson, a statistical reality. Karlsson has phenomenal puck possession numbers but the team as a whole is poor. Ottawa needs another Turris type centre that can provide play making support. Dorion thinks the team is better today because of the deal.
Better for puck possession.
Better on power play.
Added left handed shot.
We will see.

- spatso

I listened to the Dorion interview yesterday after the trade, his comments would not re-assure me if I was a Sens fan.. that type of move just reeks of shuffling the deck chairs to save some cash while sacrificing futures (something you used to complain about the Leafs doing over and over).

Did you ever think that by freeing up some future cash (not signing Zbad for 4-5 years @ 5Mill plus) that there is other uses for that cash, such as signing Hoffman, for an example?
