cut off beer sales after the 1st period. that'd help.

that would only cost the senators more money though.

Yeah, it’s a tough spot to be in. Completely reliant one your rival, just to survive. I can see why they harbor so much resentment, and behave the way they do. But that doesn't make their violence acceptable. There is a very small (yet decent portion of their total fanbase) contingent of Sens fans that are nothing more than Neanderthals.

If you go online to look for tickets for games in Ottawa vs any team, you'll see that there are people who live 100s of kms away who are selling these tickets, and have tickets for almost every game. Clealy there is good money to be made by becoming a season ticket holder, living in Trois-Rivières, and selling tickets online at inflated prices to fans from other Cities that want to see their team in Ottawa.

It's this minority leaf fans that makes them all look bad.

Yea, I wouldn't be too surprised about people not paying to watch a team with 0 cups, 0 history to their credit, and rather see the storied franchises come in for what tends to be an easy win infront of a friendly crowd.

You mean you're surprised that people still pay to see a team that has had ZERO Cup wins, or even a Cup finals appearance n 47 years (longest Cup drought of all current teams), has only made the playoff only once in past ten years, charge the highest prices in the entire league and each successive management team comes in to right the ship that has been going in circles for decades.

They're actually holding in there better than I thought. Mostly due to loser points, mind you, but still holding in there. Funny you don't see Dopps complaining about the loser points this year.

Poor memory?

I've made my opinion on "loser points" enough times now, that even the causal reader should know it by now.

Loser points were brought is to appease American viewers when the NHL was trying to score a big league style TV contract, and this lead eventually to Shoot outs, which I hate even more, followed closely this season by the dry scrape before OT.

IF it were up to me, I'd be okay with reverting back to ties after regulation and move on to the next game. But I think the next step is going to be three on three, and who knows where that will lead.

better a drought than never having a sip.

better a team trying to fix things than one sticking with the same penny pincher owner.

Side note: longest drought on record is 53 seasons for the New York Rangers. I'm pretty sure they're currently an NHL team.

that SH goal was awful..Karlsson looked like a rookie
- senstroll

Starting to get close to two years later, almost a year and a half since he’s returned, and I still see Sens fans claiming that Karlsson being terrible defensively is because he’s not 100% back from his injury.

LOL.

Currently they both have the same record of .600 P%, but the leafs have the tie breaker, therefore sit higher in the standings.

Ottawa has the better PP%, the better PK% and allow fewer Goals per game, and I'm sure there are some other team stats that the leafs have a leg up on the Sens.

Both teams on track to be in the mix for challenging for a Wildcard spot.

but that's not the only drought they had, and the previous one still holds the record.

Maybe if the Sens play 32 more seasons in the NHL, they'll be able to raise a banner when they claim that record.

Big if, though.

No I can't say the leafs have shown me anything other than what I saw in the one game I saw them play. Can't express an informed opinion on how well (or not) they've been playing this season, can only talk about the Senators as I've seen all but one of their games, so can compare to the 2013 2014 team.

Stats only show so much, not enough at this point to say whether two teams with equal P% is any much better than the other.

I watched both teams. If not for Anderson, the Sens would rotting in the basement. They look like Colorado last year.

Again, I don't watch leaf games, so I rely on your masterful analytic skills to inform me on how they play on the ice. I notice they beat the Charaless Bruins last night.
- Doppleganger

The Charaless Bruins were 6-1-0 before last night's game.
