Really like Buddy Robinson. If Neil can be moved I would be really happy to see this kid get some 4th line minutes. He has the size 6'5" and 235 and is a really good skater with okay hands.

Condra,Greening,Neil,Phillips, are 4 that need to go for sure,Wiercoch ,Hoffman are two that time is running out on for me

I did hear something yesterday that was from somebody who is close to the Sens contract and player decisions.

Apparently the Sens are considering a move that would send both Bobby Ryan and Marc Methot to the the LA Kings. Have no idea who would be coming back. Apparently Rob Blake is a huge Methot fan and strongly pushing for the Kings to get Methot.

Yeah cant see it tbh .Why would LA fix something that isnt broken

don't believe that for a second. it would have to be money in/money out for LA to stay under the cap. the kings would want to move guys like richards, stoll, etc.....that wold be a step back for ottawa, plus LA wouldn't be able to re-sign them, as both will be getting significant raises..............the cap situations don't make that trade possible, tell your friend he's full of poop

Ottawa has so many great young guys. Puemple would make the team if it were not for Lazar who is looking more and more like a lock to start the season. And, if it were not for Lazar and Puemple we would be looking closer at Buddy Robinson who is a great physical presence on every shift. In addition Hoffman and Pageau have looked really strong since day one of camp. Mark Stone will make the team.

My guess is that Ottawa is going to move some players between now and Christmas to make space for call ups. They have the same kind of crush on the blue line. Ceci has played really well, so has Claesson. But, they already have too many guys on NHL contracts.

Here we go again. Spatso looking at second rate prospects, and projecting them into stars.

They are. No question. 100% for sure. Leivo, same draft as Puempel. Leivo had better production in junior. Better production in the AHL. Started getting NHL time last year. He is, 100%, without the least bit of question better than Puempel. It’s an easy, easy decision.

Same goes for Nylander and Lazar.

The funny thing is, Leivo’s production is closer to Lazar’s than it is to Puempel, when you look at it.

he might eventually be better, but right now it's not close. lazar is a complete player, even the pro toronto media (like o'neill and ward) were praising his game last night. they said nylander has potential and skill, but isn't close to being ready yet. even when he reaches his potential, nylander is unlikely to be anything but a point producer, lacking the "overall game", where lazar has tons of offensive upside to go along with the physicality and 2-way game.

so, i stand by my . he might eventually be better, but right now lazar is clearly the better player.

Possibly the most offensively gifted prospect from the draft... Not the best all-around, but offensively, anyways. That's from scouts pre-draft. So it's a bit early to say he blows.

Oh, and statistically speaking anyways, leivo was better than puempel last season... So no laughies required on procks post.

Leivo vs Puempel? No question.

He outscored him and played a more significant role when THEY PLAYED FOR THE SAME TEAM. Doesn’t really get much more clear than that.

You foolish little man. Connor Brown out scored Conner McDavid. And, they also played for the same team. So, we know, Connor Brown is a better player than McDavid. Right! We understand!

as usual, you never let facts get in teh way of your arguments......never change.

in jr:

leivo - 176p/193g - 0.91ppg
puempel - 213p/195g - 1.09ppg

in ahl:

leivo - 44p/64g - 0.68
puempel - 48p/75g - 0.65

so puempel killed him in jrs, leivo had a slightly higher ppg in AHL, except that puempel has killed him in goals scored at every level.

but like i said, don't let facts get in your way.

OH, poor little guy. You’re comparing two kids of very different ages. With only junior to compare.

Puempel and Leivo – same draft class, same age. Leivo has outperformed Puempel in the same league in junior, same TEAM, same pro league, and gotten a taste of one step further, the NHL, which Puempel hasn’t.

Cool the jets. Every great rookie prospect of the Leafs first gets anointed as the next best ever only to be destroyed for his failure to live up to all the false hype. Do you think Nylander will play a better 200' game than Kadri?

What do you base lazar being better than Nylander on? One good season in the WHL, when he was older than most guys he played against?

Nylander played in men's leagues. Unless you watched both players last season(highly doubt you watched either)... You can't compare stats.

But going by stats, lazar hasn't shown that much offensively... One good(not great) season doesn't give him "huge" offensive upside. As prock pointed out, his numbers aren't too much better than Leivo's.

Ps. if Lazar had "huge" offensive potential, what about the Leafs's Connor Brown? Elite-level?

Why would you bother looking at what they did at 16 or 17, when you can see how they have progressed, and compare what they did at 18 or 19. Especially when they played for the same team?

Oh, never mind, I know why. You wouldn’t want to look at the more relevant facts, because it contradicts what you want to see.

So puempel is a better junior player, and leivo is a better pro player?

I'm good with that.

Oh, and being on pace for one more goal isn't exactly "killing him" in goals.
