Avg size forward group only 2 under 6' and no D under 6'

Good to see some game action at least, even though it might be garbage.

From Petey's agent:

On the future of Pettersson, who has another year left on his deal with the Canucks

He does want to be patient. He’s excited about the upcoming season. He’s excited about how things are going recently, and he wants to absorb and make some decisions probably toward the end of the season and see how things are gonna go. He’s still a restricted free agent at the end of the year, so it’s not like he’s a UFA. He’s had an amazing summer, and he’s ready to have a big year and then we’ll take it from here.

Note: Brisson talked on the podcast about the value of doing short- or long-term deals with Zegras and Pettersson.

It’s all getting ramped up now guys are working out together at UBC, the young stars tourney, camp opening up on the 21st. Got my tickets they’re 5$/ day not too bad at all!

I have a few players I am curious about so I am
Very much looking forward to seeing them open camp.

@NYN

I have been thinking about a winger for Petey's line to make a huge impact and actually turn a bubble team into a threat. I think the next few weeks are going to be busy so I was wondering what moves can be made to make the team a PO team.

They need a center and one more Dman IMO

Options of centers on the list Pinto Scheifele. Costly but worth a look. Ottawa need cap space more than anything so I think we could offer a better package than Boston.

JTM Petey Kuz
Mikheyev Pinto Boeser
Pearson Suter Hoglander
Dakota Blueger Garland

Hughes ???
Soucy Hronek
Cole Juulsen

Need to trade Beau and Myers.

Granted this is from last season but that line was Petey and Kuzmenko's worst partner for expected goals %.

Podkolzin, Pederson, Boeser, Beauviller, Mikheyev were all better with Petey and Kuz then Miller.

And how could you do that to your boy Garland?!

Garland and Dakota had good chemistry at the end of last year. He actually helped them become a point producing line.

Joshua-Aman-Garland 115.1 minutes 45.2% expected goals.

Actual goals was GF 4 GA 3 for that line.

Not spectacular in any way but there was only a couple decent lines last season.

For a bottom line scoring 4 goals in 115 minutes is better than the four goals a year we use to get from out fourth line.

I blame the poor D on Myers for the three goals against.

Not really if you read past the headlines. Both Jenner & Gaudreau called the story blown out of proportion. Looking at and sharing family photos with players.
I'm not a fan of his but give the dude a chance to fuck up properly before tarring & feathering him.

He shouldn't have been re-hired into the league, but yeah there's no concrete evidence of anything yet.

Quenneville & Bowman never should but Babcock isn't the first nor the last coach to be a bully. He's done his penance, if the league felt he was ready so be it.

What penance? He continued to be paid an NHL salary while taking another job elsewhere for a few years.

I wish i had the penance of getting paid 6 million a year until I could go back to a job. His contract with Toronto only ended July 1st this year.

Forgot he was still getting paid.
Still don't think it was a big deal looking at family photos with players. Like I said, I'm not a fan of his and never have been but the cancel culture has a very itchy trigger finger.

I am very curious about McWard, Hirose, Soucy and Hoglander. I think looking at the team I want to see how they organize the players in the groups. Do they go with- the majority of the team w/ some outliers or are the regulars split amongst the groups

Whoops, didn't realize a new blog up. Not used to this torrid pace!

On Canucks vs. Coyotes ...

I mean, even comparing Canucks and Coyotes shows how abysmal Vancouver has been of late. These are two of the worst run NHL franchises in recent memory. Holding your hat on having a few guys pan out with almost zero supporting cast and next to nothing in the pipeline is not very bright imho. Not to mention, the best of the bunch EP with one foot out the door.

Sure Arizona has been worse, but not many other teams have been ... and honestly aside from a bubble run where we shouldn't have even made the playoff in a regular year, how much better than Arizona have we been? Not trying to be uber negative, but let's get real.

It's been a while since the Canucks had a decent amount of players that people have been watching to see how they do.
