You wouldn’t trade a 40 point defenseman for 80+ point offensive player? Yikes. Isles had a bottom 4 D I believe so obviously Dobson isn’t helping. Along with that you had a bottom 10 offense. With Sorokin I don’t think you need to worry about defense as much. In next free agency just bring back Toews or sign Pesce.

Dobson has averaged 50 points each of the last 2 seasons. Not 40. He is only 23 and still rounding out his game. He has the potential to be a 60-70 point player. Nylander is great but you don't trade a potential 60-70 point #1 defenseman for a good 80 point winger. Plus Dobsons cap hit is 4 million for the next 2 seasons while Nylander is 7 million this season and probably over 9 the following years.
