Is at least worth acknowledging that Thompson's stats may be inflated playing behind such a suffocating defense. This roster made Adin Hill look like a Vezina candidate and Laurent Brossoit look like a bonafide #1 goalie. So there is considerable uncertainty with Thompson.

I doubt Thompson is much more than a lateral move from Jarry, statistically speaking...but his cap hit is minuscule at just under $800k...so, worth it in that sense (assuming acquisition cost isn't crazy). Although, I am not sure why Vegas would want to trade him vs tandem with Hill...probably "just an Ek" rumor/doesn't make any sense and/or click bait.

Significantly more likely it's Lehner trying to get dealt by Vegas, even if they have to retain 30-50% salary. But, that makes too much sense to be really what could be happening...lol

The Crosby, Latang, Mallon window has been closed for a few years now. They didn’t even make the playoffs last season. Only an idiot would think with the core core being yet another year older that they’ll be better next season. I guess that idiot is Dubas.

Core played very well actually - the bottom half of the lineup (F+D) was HORRIBLE, and goal-tending was...streaky
