Nothing to do w Torts and everything to do with moving a guy you really don’t want on a young team. Did you want Hayes taking minutes away from a young player at 7 mill?

If St Louis feels they are a player away from going far then it’s a good move. If not why bother. He’s not gonna age well and has as much interest in winning as Keith Yandle…

I know Hayes’ stock was at an all time low, but that’s a steal for the Blues and terrible move on the Flyers part other than a move for the sake of moving.

Addition by subtraction, is why it's great...although the Flyers unfortunately had to pay half his salary to move him. I knew they were going to have to. There are several other moves to make now. Probably TK and Sanheim, at the very least.

Exactly. 18 goals, 54 points last season !! He's less than 3.6 cap hit. That's a GREAT move for STL. Briere should've got a 2nd at least with that cap retention. Must be something else going on

If this is Haye's value maybe Briere can pull off a blockbuster with the remaining assets, but this looks like a missed opportunity for the franchise to move forward. Yes, I would have been happier also, if they only retained 20%, but the Blues screwed up.. so this is what we get. Plus, we don't get Krug and his outrageous salary..at the production he would have likely given us.
