Chicago Weaponizing Cap Space to Perfection After bottoming out and getting Bedard they are now in a xrazy unique position…The Hall trade may just be the first of some other deals we see where Chicago absorbs other team’s Cap Space….There were a few teams upset whe the Hall trade went down because they were taking to the Hawks about the same kind of space,

How tf are they weaponizing it? They didn't even get anything for taking on Hall's cap hit. Seems like they simply used space they had to get a player.

If Hall continues to play well, what happens at the trade deadline in the 24/25 season?

In the last couple of weeks, Chicago signed/acquired the following 3 players:

Hall
Foligno
Athanasiou

The cap hit for this trio is $14.25M. Chicago received zero draft picks or prospects.

This is not weaponizing cap space. This is nothing more than a team adding players to fill out a roster. Weaponizing cap space would be taking on a guy like Hayes at his full cap hit and getting a top pick or prospect from Philly. Instead of signing Foligno, why not acquire Granlund and extract a top pick from Pittsburgh, or Mike Hoffman from Montreal.

Too funny. People using terms like weaponization without even understanding what it means...

How about when they trade Foligno at the deadline this upcoming season for an asset? Or trade Hall at the deadline in 24/25 for an asset?
