LA Closing in on Dubois. Extension is the issue. BIG Issue.
Per David Pagnotta…. I Kings are approaching the finish line on Dubois. An extension would have to be in place. Players or any other way could include Gabe Vilardi and Alex Iafallo…. Ek’s note…I keep hearing that they will be hardball played for this contract however because Dubois really wants to play in Montreal. |

Dubois is a good hockey player that is doing what has been happening for years in the NBA dictating where he wants to play.
Unfortunately he most likely get his way and the Jets will not get much in return.
This new CBA has to be augmented or the NHL will have only 6 teams getting all the players in their prime while undesirable cities will be a training ground for rookies.
The only way to slightly combat this is to;
. freeze the cap
. raise the UFA age to 30
. no more No Trade contracts
. shut down the loopholes that allow teams to add
$25 mil on their roster for the playoffs.
. If the players agents don't like it then strike and the league can play their young kids from the minors, reduce the cost of tickets.
THIS WON"T HAPPEN but something has to be done or kiss most of the Canadian teams goodbye as their knowledgeable fans won't support teams that always lose their stars. |

How long do you think the lockout will be until the players accept that? 2? 3yrs?

I don't care how long the strike last as this CBA is broken and needs to be fixed or over 20+ teams will have zero chance of winning the cup each year and 15+ cities will have a hard time keeping their team. |

If the Jets get Vilardi, they are getting a great return. The only downside of Vilardi is he has gotten hurt too much but he is an amazing player. As a Kings fan, I don't want him part of the trade, however, he is a RFA and will get a good raise. Won't be as much Dubois will get on an extension, but the Jets will be getting back a great player who is young as well.

Please enlighten me, isn't Vilardi and Iafallo too much for Dubois?
Dubois is a good hockey player and seems like he has room to grow, but Vilardi just started to show great signs and 10-15 goal scoring D-men arent easy to find. Now add that PLD will most likely sign for 8Mil +. At this point I'm not seeing it as an advantage for LA to trade for him.
But again I'm asking since I might be completely wrong about this. |

um who is this 10-15 goal scoring Dman you are talking about? Certainly not Vilardi nor Iafollo |

Well there you go, that explains better haha. Still think the kings are giving too much here but definitely not the same that I was thinking at first |

Not going to lie but so do I. Vilardi is a stud and will rock. The only gamble is his health. If he stays healthy he will light it up. That is why I am hoping Vildardi doesn't go the other way and Iafallo too imo is a bit much.
