Trade his ass. He's gonna dog it so he doesn't get hurt.. and he's the kind of wussie that would hold out also.. just a large and soft beatch.

Feel bad for the Jets on this ... what a nozzle the beatch is.

Trade him by the draft. The Jets deserve better.

Without question, he needs to be dealt! Hopefully before the draft.

Lots of teams should be interested in a 24-25 yr old 1st/2nd line centre. A player who can/could grind in the playoffs.

Let's see - Carolina, Montreal, NYR, LA, Bos, Col, perhaps others - might be interested in PLD.

PLD, agreeing to extension, I could see going to LA or NYR, if he doesn't go to Montreal. Should get a good package in return.

Agree with the possible suitors. The more I think about it, the less likely seeing the Jets coming together with the Habs on a deal happening. Stick him in the East, Boston, Rangers, Carolina, NJ and anyone else I’m missing that may work. Maybe a couple of Pacific teams could work, LA or Seattle?

Why would Montreal give up any assets for PLD? They are in full rebuild mode, and will be for the next few years.....PLD wants to come to Montreal, he can do it as a FA.

I've never been a big PLD fan. I hope the Jets get a solid return, i just hope its not from the Habs. Locker room is fine without him. He smells of Mike Riberio 2.0

Yea, possibly.

But like it's been said, send PLD elsewhere, say to the Rangers, and he may decide he likes the bright lights of the big city, and want to sign long-term there.

Do the Habs want to risk this happening?

Jets not interested in a rebuild...

Jets goin to lose 4 of their core pieces in the next year, including their top 2 C with no internal replacements at all, Jets need to rebuild you cannot replace 4 core pieces with trades/UFA.

Now is the time to rebuild ....... forget about augmenting this team with mediocre trades or additions, ....... trade for assets and picks, prospects and look toward the future.

This BS about the Jets not interested in a rebuild is the biggest line of BS going these days. The top 2 centres want out, the goalie wants out, Wheeler needs a new home, etc.

Media needs to quit feeding this BS about Jets not interested in a rebuild, they have no choice ffs.

Oh for sure, I agree 100%!

There has never been/never will be a better time for a rebuild. No, maybe it's not a full rebuild but certainly a "partial rebuild." Call it whatever!

Need to trade the major impending UFA's and RFA's, and get back some young blood. Guys that don't think they are entitled, and put some effort in to it.

I think fans would rather watch a young gung-ho team, than a bunch of older veterans, retreads from other teams.

Strike now while the iron is hot!

I agree, but we're talking about PLD here. There is no "grind" to his game, more of a gentle glide.

PLD is a solid 2C, but it would be foolish to not recognize the baggage he brings....do the Habs want a petulant 2C ?

PLD, as you know, is a big, bullish 2-way C who had his career high of 63 pts this season. Coming 25 in two weeks, probably just coming into his prime.

He would give the Habs a great 1-2 punch down the middle with Suzuki. He would also give the Habs something they are lacking, size and grit with his 6'3" 220 lb frame. When he puts his mind to it (and he no doubt would with the home-team Habs) he can be a dominating figure on the ice.

However, if the Habs want to pass on him, I'm sure the Bruins, Rangers, Canes, Bruins and Avs, among others, would be quite interested.

Not every day/year a 2nd line C in his prime comes on the market. He could make a difference - Lord Stanley or no Lord Stanley? I think there will be decent offers for PLD!

The last time the Jets traded a high profile player by draft time, they got Pionk’d. Chevy could have looked really good on that trade if he had traded Pionk after his one good season (that’s where talent evaluation come in). Unfortunately Chevy held on too long and Pionk has steadily declined here. I have 0 trust that this trade turns out good for the Jets.

It was also not everyday a top right side defensemen in his prime became available either in Trouba.

I think we as Jets fans should be preparing ourselves to get Pionk’d.

I like the idea of shopping PLD in the east. Lets put some heat on Montreal that they may have to play against this guy if they snub him by deciding they should wait and get him for free.

New York teams and Boston may work but how about Ottawa? Its close to Montreal, they have some young assets that may be in play. Norris, Zub, Bernard-Docker would all be in the range of conversation about trade availability, picks, prospects etc.

Ottawa would instantly become a harder team to play against, more penalties drawn, someone for Austin Mathews to deal with a couple more times/year. Along with Tkachuk that team would have some instant identity as a physical, irritating, skilled team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExC1FH3IK7I

Wherever the trade, do it for the best return but Ottawa should be interested.

Funny attempt to manipulate the Habs, but PLD has the same agent as Caufield, pretty easy to not have any misunderstandings.

Send him to Boston, they will be needing plenty of help....but their cap situation won't work for a PLD contract. Same with the Sens, no cap for the contract PLD seeks......

So if you're team, say Ottawa, do you want to trade big assets for player who has already quit on 2 teams and will likely bolt to Montreal in a year or two?

The Jets have to realize that the return for PLD will be underwhelming. It will be only one suitor bidding (Montreal), or he will be viewed purely as a rental, and a rental with baggage at that.

Montreal isn't going to be offering up any assets, as they still need to figure out if Dach is a 2C, or not..... Then the PLD contract won't fit into the cost scheme being implemented.... Then there is the 'Montreal is not going to be a contender of any sorts for a few years' so why use assets for PLD when he can come as a FA next year..... Then there is the whole quitting on teams bs, which I do not personally buy....but it is clear PLD is trying to force movement, again.

Montreal will not be a player in this saga.....

If they are going to trade hellebuyck there has to be another goalie that the jets pick up. Maybe look into trading Scheifele or Dubois to Carolina for Pyotr Kochetkov. I have watched him play a lot on Chicago on the wolves. Played really well, has an edge to his game, very passionate, very well could become an elite goalie in the near future, should also get a pick back in that trade also. Gives Carolina a year to go after the cup, they would go after that, then hellebuyck becomes expendable with a solid up and coming goalie.

Montreal also has cap issues. you cant put Price on LTIR until after the season starts. no one is lining up to take Dvorak, Hoffman, Gallagher, or Armia off the Habs.

I have 4 season tix with Jets and I’m ok’ish with a rebuild but remember 2 key pieces Perfetti and Lucius are already missing more games then they play. If they don’t get over the injury hump we are more screwed than we think.

PLD to L.A.
55 to Car or Ott
Hellybuck to Buffalo

That’s my guess
