To take Campbell, I'm accepting a 1st and a prospect and nothing less.

Now add the value to whatever player goes with him.

I’d say no. Skinner has better numbers at half the price. If there’s a rebuild and fire sale going down in Philly the guy I’m after is Couturier

To Edmonton: Couturier 50% retained

To Philly: Yamamoto, Campbell, 2024 1st rounder, Bourgault

And what do you think Hart is worth with his mediocre numbers?

Yamamoto...no use for him.

Now what are you trading for Couturier with 50% retained for 7 YEARS, that's almost 26 million. That is going to cost A LOT.

Just remember you are not doing the Flyers any favors for them to pay 26 million for nothing.

They just took upon Petersen’s contract for two years. Not even the Flyers will be cool with $10m/year in cap for both Campbell and Cal.

Doesn’t seem like a fit. Not unless a facilitator 3rd team takes Campbell. Doubtful.

No thanks. If they're going all in on a goalie I'd prefer they go after Hellebuyck.

Yeah, IHBB isn’t one much for thinking. Teams only retain salaries for a year or less unless it’s very unique situation. This isn’t one of them. Couturier’s contract is a bit steep for a player his age but I like him so Philly would need to take a mid to short term contract back rather than retain, and of course would need a decent trade piece coming back for the veteran.
Realistically any offer would probably be a 2nd and a high end prospect and a contract like Cici or Yamamoto for the Flyers to keep or flip for other assets.
Having said that, there are less cash strapped teams that could offer the same return without the contract going back.

Before you go wasting more assets on another goalie, you should probably fix the defence first. Doesn’t matter who plays net, they won’t look good playing behind that crap.

You don’t like Yamamoto? What’s not to like about a Smurf that doesn’t hit or put up points when needed? Every poster on here has traded Yamo at one point this season.

Anyone hear from Mrs McDavid? I’m starting to worry maybe she’s fallen and is stuck somewhere. She was such a breath of fresh air, with all her Ra Raing!

Aiden Hill says you need a great D to make a goalie look good. Vegas about to win the cup with their 3rd string goalie. Holland will chase the goalie and ignore the crappy D.
I think my skills are top notch.

I’m sure you think that, and maybe by todays low standards they are. Oilers fans deserve better quality trolls but this is what we get nowadays

Oh, I’m sorry, I thought the article was about if the Oilers should trade for a new goalie. Nice burn btw.

Well FFS, your trade proposal was ridiculous. What do you want? A pat on the back and high praise for being completely illogical and unrealistic?

You get what you deserve. Never seen a team waste great players because they cant make the right moves to win a cup than oilers.

I don't know why Edmonton would want to look for a new goalie when Skinner has done the job and just needs more playoff experience to grow. Use that money to find more disciplined D-men because you have all of the other pieces that need to win soon.

You would think such a hapless franchise would attract better more clever trolls . We had the best trolls this site had to offer visit us regularly 10 years ago. Now all we get are these schlubs that lack cleverness and creativity.

I doubt they will . The biggest issue in net is Campbell’s contract.

Ya I guess so. Wishful thinking by me. But I do enjoy the banter and ball busting on here. Sad to say that the peak of this thread was when it was written by Richard Clouitier.
