I like your theory of spreading the wealth. But I doubt Woodcroft does it.

If I were slotting players this way I'd have Foegele on the first line instead of Kostin or Lavoie. In the right situation I see Foegele blowing past 20 goals and looking like a value contract.

If you can give away Yamo and Ceci I'd be looking hard at someone like Barbashev. He's proving he can compliment skill players. Has some size and defensive awareness. I'm thinking he's earning a $4M+ multi-year deal, but worth exploring. I'm also asking if Corey Perry wants one more shot at $1M.

Hyman-McD-Foegele
RNH-Drai-Barbashev
Kane-McLeod-Perry
Ryan-Bugstad-Kostin

Someone mentioned this before, but let's stop trying to mimic the most current team that found succes in a bottle. Vegas beat us because they had THREE solid players on each line. Florida is a team whereby EVERYONE is pulling on the rope and buying in. I think the Oilers have a pretty decent roster and really only need to make a couple/few small adjustments. But what I personally think they need is to somehow have the whole team buying in and working hard all over the ice. Not in the slot, not on the breakout, not waiting on the dot for a one-timer PPG...ALL over the ice. I hate to say it but maybe a coaching change?

Drai,Nuge,Kane,Hyman on the 3rd line is just not it, in my opinion.

Someone somehow has to motivate this guys more to hate losing.

That’s exactly it, Bub. We have the horses, we just don’t have the system or attitude that promotes team defence. That’s on Woodcroft and the entire roster
