Trevor Neufeld: You’re Interviewing Who!? Examining Two “Final Round” GM Candidates

After what happened with the Kyle Beach scandal, there’s no Fuking way Bowman should be anywhere near the Flames. How he’s even in the conversation is crazy. Big no to Nonis and Bergevin, time to quit recycling the fired GM’s. I’m all for a new GM, Flames got a lot of unraveling to do. I’ve said this before, they need to pick a direction and stick to it.

I haven't seen any candidate who's young, progressive and inventive in the rumor mills. Pascall would be the best in the list, yes to the others if we were a circus.

If I am a young progressive GM candidate and I am getting email notifications that Maloney has sent me messages via MySpace I would probably not respond. The 4 candidates that got a serious look sure give a good indication what kind of talent the Flames are attracting.

Nonis completely sucked in his last role. Bowman sucked AND is a complete scumbag. Even as someone that hates cancel culture, I still find Quennville and Bowman undeserving of a second chance. Bergevin was mediocre at best. Doubt Conroy could be any worse than those options.

I agree out of those 4 Conroy is definitely the best choice. They’ve been grooming him for 9 years, I don’t understand why he wouldn’t be their first choice. I get looking at all avenues but when it comes right down to it, what have they been keeping him around for, if it wasn’t to eventually take over?
Added bonus is I heard if he gets the job expect Iginla to be hired in some capacity. If we’re looking for a different direction, this would be a start.

Been grooming him for 9 years and in those 9 years the team accomplished what?
If bringing in Iggy is what tips the scale for Conny then they may as well give the job to Iggy.
Sounds like Conny is going to be the guy and I think that's all about him being willing to accept limited decision making power and $.
