No mention of Hintz? He could be the x factor for Dallas.

Thanks for the good work Zak.

Carolina in 6, Bob plays great but better team wins.

Vegas in 5. Better, deeper team then Dallas.

SCF: Vegas in 7, for the same reason they beat Dallas.

Going to be tough for Carolina to recover from that one.
Bob's on a roll.

Just a crazy question or two, not interested in a flame war:

Would anyone here trade the #3 pick for Matthews? Would Toronto if they decided to move on from him?

How about Nylander and Toronto's 1st pick for the #3 pick?

Would anyone here trade the #22 pick plus players for Nylander or Marner?

The media and others in Leaf's Land seem to want to dump some of these guys, which I do not understand. But hey if the CBJ could get one of these three for the right price, why not? I'd love to see Matthews in a CBJ sweater, even if we had to give up an extra young player or two.

Maththews would have to agree to an extension. Then maybe the #22 + Laine + 2023 3rd rndr + 2023 4th rndr + prospect(s) ? Not including Jiricek and Johnson.

Marner would be nice, but again, not the #3. He has 2 seasons left on his contract, then he'd be gone. Although years ago he did consider an offer sheet Jarmo talked to him about. I would do something similar to the Matthews deal.
I wouldn't trade the #3 for Nylander. Certainly #22 + Roslovic + ??

The value of an asset is relative to the objectives of the organization. Trading a star player for futures makes sense for a rebuilding team. Not for a contender like Toronto. Conversely, a rebuilding team like Columbus shouldn't be trading futures for star prime players coming up for new contracts. They'll likely be in decline as the team is ascending. Columbus is years away from being a contender and rushing is a surefire way to stagnate the rebuild.
