it would be really fun to see the Penquins not make the playoffs.

Me either. If they get Bedard that might finally be rock bottom.

Haha, yea it’s a little scary to me that they will be in the running for Bedard. Dream scenario would be they get #2, Hexys favorite, draft Michkov, and he’s an epic bust or literally never comes over.

Even if they were to win the lottery (with a 1/2 of one percent chance), they could pick no higher than 5th. The 12th to 16th teams cannot pick first. No team can jump more than 10 spots.

Do the teams outside a certain point have no chance at top 3? Saw you updated post. Thanks

Recalling Zamula to play 7 defenseman is stupid. Let Laczynski play his way back.

Is Braun that bad or was the Zamula move made to see if the kid is actually NHL ready?

Or are the showing of Zamula for a possible trade?

prefer they get the latest first round pick possible while being a complete disappointment on the season. That feels like winning a round to give false hope.

So you are saying you want the Penguins in the lottery with a generational talent available? Where have we seen that scenario before? I'll take them making the playoffs rather than risking them falling into the bottom 10

Does anyone have any links to how many times a team ended the season dead last and didn’t get the first overall pick? I wanna know what the biggest jump has been to get the first, aside that ridiculous time the Rangers made the playoffs and still got the first overall pick!

I think Edmonton went from 5th to first to get McDavid, no?

Yup, 11 & 7 because God forbid Provorov or one of the other Tort’s darlings that crapped the bed last game gets scratched.

Torts is a hypocrite and an bumhole. He has one set of standards for his pets and another for everyone else. He is a terrible leader and if Briere really wants me to trust him, Torts would join the senior advisors on the unemployment line next month.

I want the Pens to squeeze into the final spot and get swept by Boston.

Teams 1-11 can all, mathematically at least, draft first or second.
Team 12 mathematically could draft 2nd but not first. Team 13 could draft as high as 3rd, etc.

You think Provorov is favored in any way on this team?

The lottery system weighting and max spots have changed several times, first as a disincentive for tanking and then, moving a bit back in the other direction, to reduce how far a team could rise or drop.

The Flyers hit their 2.4% chance in 2017 to move up from 13th to 2nd overall --the jbiggest jump in lottery history. Unfortunately, we know how that one worked out.

By Torts? Absolutely.

He has had some terrible games, does he get scratched? Ever? Even benched for a long stretch? Nope, never.
