I both hate, and am embarrassed to say this. But yes, this loss was a gut punch. One, yes, because of he last second tie and watching Angelo get turnstiled on the OT goal. Two, and this is the part I am embarrassed of, I hate that they got the extra point. If they are going to lose I want them to lose. And fall down the standings and get a better draft pick.

I will always root for this team. But I know what needs to be done. If we are one point better at the end of the season and it costs us a draft spot.... well

I hate this is the fan I've become.

I watched the highlights and despite the nature of the loss, it was and is encouraging to see a team led by its younger guys, really step up against a cup contender. I can’t lose sight of the looming implications of this next draft either. Such is the duality of being a fan of this franchise right now, as MB mentioned above.

I like seeing the progress of Tippett, Frost, York. Seeing Konecny play well up until he got hurt.

I hate watching Sanheim and especially Provorov continue to backslide.

I like seeing Cates be a solid player, wherever he ends up in the lineup. It is good to see Foerster look like he can play. I hope he gets sent back down to bolster the Phantoms playoff push.

In order to win this team will need those middle six guys to be solid contributors. I just hope they can draft those top line guys over the next few seasons.

That was just a hard ending to watch.. 7 seconds... man...

On the bright side.. Trea Turner is crazy good and looks like the 2nd best player in baseball behind Sho... The Phillies are going to be a some kind of team this yr.

the recent change to the lineups seem to be working well. said yesterday, lemieux and frost are showing chemistry imo.

when healthy, i would like to see cates on coots wing w/ tk. getting annoyed with hayes recently.

edit. i think sanhiem or provie are gone this summer. of the two people have been saying provie, but i think he is better than sanhiem.

I think there are definitely encouraging signs with the young players. Can't take anything away from them. I think it's important to remember that the Flyers aren't seeing other teams A game too often. Especially on the back side of a back to back for a team. Carolina's defense, which may be the best in the league, isn't going to blow coverages and positioning around the net too often.

Both Sanheim and Provorov are ultimately responsible for their own play. Provorov, especially on the last second goal in regulation, was guilty of simply trying to do too much. He lost positional and situational awareness. He bit into being dragged away from the net and the entire team lost back side net awareness. It's late in the season and I see the Flyers as a team, still don't have a quality attention to detail defensively in their own zone. That's a failure on the coaching staff. A head coach who preaches defense first and is known as a coach who cleans up the small areas and details of the game. It's just not present right now. Team wide.

then he addressed the whole team, placing the ultimate responsibility on the coaches. they are all involved is the point. coaches lay out the plan, up to the players to perform said plan.

Provorov is way better than Sanheim, but since Chuckles gave him that long term contract it will be very hard to move him most likely. If they trade Provorov I'd like to know who is going to eat up all of his minutes. I wouldn't be in a rush to trade him unless someone bowls me over with an offer. Hayes and Angelo need to go!! This is a team that is quickly being taken over by the younger players and you don't want those two veteran turds hanging around. Hayes only came here cause the Flyers were the only team willing to overpay him. Time to move the clown along and Angelo can find an empty seat on the next train out of town as far as I'm concerned. At least Laughts got the tanking memo with that ridiculous neutral zone penalty with 7 seconds to go.

How do you bench Laz and Allison and not ND. The love affair with this player is disgusting. If Briere wants to prove he is changing the Flyers philosophy he will banish ND to the minors (I believe he only has a NTC, not NMC)

Just saw that the Pens got bushwhacked by the Rags again last night. Is Hexy hiding under his desk yet? I hate the Rags too, but not as much as the Penwhines. Rags could be scary come playoff time if their talented forwards gel cause they have the defenders and tender that could take a team deep into the promised land.

of the two provie is easier to move for sure. sanhiems contract will handcuff us for years if his play does not improve. maybe the new macdonald.

Provy is simply a better d man than Sanheim will ever be. But with that being said his play has plateaued over the last couple of seasons. Hopefully the Flyers move on. I’d love to see Sanheim gone, but his value based on contract and play make that move tough.
I agree as well that Hayes and Angelo probably should be moved as well. I wouldn’t call them turds, but they are just a reminder of mistakes made by Fletch. Looking at the way the lottery works the Flyers need to get into that 4th worst seed…that would be a great scenario.
I’m fine with a healthy coots and a guy like Laughton staying around. For all their faults they are both the type of pro’s you need. (Provided Coots can get on the ice)

I agree, it's emotionally draining for the fans as we watch hoping to get close to the Bedard trophy but see the team suddenly start to play well, obviously talking about the young guys. For me personally I know that rooting one way or another holds no sway on what happens and need to enjoy Tippet and the rest of the youngsters and dream of a better tomorrow...which is diametrically opposed to what the Pens have to look forward to!

Can someone give briere bill guerin’s number so he can talk about how to cut the cord on players immediately.
Coots ( if possible)
Cam
Tk
Laughts
Provie
Sanheim (if possible)
Hart
Hayes (if possible)
Risto ( I know I know)
Tony Richard

Get rid of all of them. Most can be traded for some good assets.

Some probably need to retain salary ( who cares)

Some may need to be bought out.

Cut the damn cord

Watching the really young should be enough to sell to the base. York bee trees tip ersson cutter brink etc.

Minnesota did it.
