I feel as if Rakell has been the better linemate to Sid and Jake this season.

Why not have a 3rd of O'Conner-Granlund-Rust

I feel that line could produce with speed and board work in the o-zone.

Nylander looks solid, but can he lose faceoffs in overtime like Carter can?

Right but I’m saying they added 7.5m in cap at the deadline for a bum forward and an okay offensive d man. They should have been more aggressive getting a forward especially with Pacioretty already out. They have too small a margin of error with the lack of finishing talent on their roster. This is a massive loss for them.

Fourth line hasn't had a shot on goal in the last two games. I blame Malkin because it sure couldn't be the greatest #77 in Penguin's history fault.

"In fact, he’s been playing with Evgeni Malkin allowing Mike Sullivan to spread the wealth and place Rickard Rakell in a third line role to try and juice up the scoring there"

Dominik Simon's hidden invisible superpower was a for his line to put up some points, despite his not showing up on the scoresheet. I don't think that's Nylander, but I'm more concerned his line is productive than his stat's per se.
Considering the lack of options, I'm fine with giving him an extended look.

Hahaha I think RW put it right that it's sink or swim. I'm not a huge fan of Nylander so I'm not willing to declare him the solution yet. But I'm happy to give it an extended look because nothing else was working.

Rackell has been the better linemate for everyone. So I'd guess the real concern for me would be if Rust on a third line elevates it, or does he just stop producing.

Oh I totally agree and that is pretty much what I was saying, that he should get more looks and also that if it came down to him or Heinen in the lineup I would go with Nylander....which was responded to with being told to pump my brakes on Nylander hahaha

@TartanBill:

That might be the best we can hope for. All season our third line has been complete garbage despite a quite good season out of our top 6. If we can make the third line viable by bumping a winger down and having the Malkin-Zucker combo continue to be good enough to click along despite a passenger on the RW that’s a huge win for us

With the Canadians getting their tits scrubbed last night and their coaches tirelessly working to setup plays to expose Carter on his 2 seconds of 3-3 time it should be an easy win.

Hahaha did someone blow a tire? ... Is that why that happened?... I was glanced away for a second and when I looked up thought I noticed one of the Pens on the ice at Habs blueline with the puck going other way back towards Pens zone

You’re the guy that everyone gets embarrassed for at the party but you’re too dumb to know it.
