There is no world where this is possible. Pens have insufficient assets and cap room to make the kind of moves they would need to in order to give them a serious shot at the cup. They couldn't pick up Meier, etc because of this and those are the impact players that could make a difference. The rest don't really move the needle. The play is look for high-risk high-reward but low cost guys and hope for the best - eg, Vrana, Bertuzzi, etc.
