Yeesh, they looked sluggish. Back to back understandable after McDavid skated them into the ground the night before.

Orlov sure looks poised back there! He is big for that d core going forward. I wonder if they can resign him?

The game was lost for Calgary when Mangiapane was standing over the puck behind the Bruin's red line (empty net because of a delayed Calgary penalty). He was crosschecked toward the boards, and the play was blown dead. Boston gets their power play, but somehow avoids an even-up penalty for the blatant crosscheck. Mangiapane obviously hadn't even touched the puck. A blown non-call.
The Bruins score the tying goal on that PP, and all the Flames momentum is gone. The Flames are fragile in OT and even outshooting and chancing Boston in OT, it was never going to end well.

πŸ˜‚ well to blame on the loss on 1 play is absurd. Calgary had 55 some shots on net. They played well and deserved the win but Ullmark stole the game.

Flames were robbed by Ullmark, plain and simple. If a couple more calgary chances go in, that is a completely different game.

How about that Orlov guy? Seems to be meshing well with Monty's system.

Was the hit unnecessary. Probably. Mangiapane should just, you know, touch the puck so the play is dead there. Play was still live. Instead, he stood directly over the puck and expected to not get hit?

I don't think that play was the reason they lost. Flames have had a few games lately where they put up a ton of shots with not much to show for it. They were outshooting the Coyotes like 40-9 the other night and the score was 3-3.

They need to go ride or die with Markstrom and hope he finds his game. They can do some damage in the west if they make the playoffs with even mediocre goal tending.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Calgary got a power play when 2 of their players ran into each other. Refs can only do so much for you.

I'll be honest, they were getting so outplayed, when Flames took the lead with 5 min left, I figured it was over and went to bed. Figured if they won, awesome, if they lost, didnt want to watch. lol.

The game was lost when our goalie outplayed your entire team.

Blaming the game on 1 non-call (that neither allowed a goal nor erased one) is just silly.

Well, Sweeney is on a roll. Tyler Bertuzzi coming to the bruins. Probably to mitigate the injuries over the past couple games.

Looks like a protected 2024 1st and a 2025 4th. 1st rounder is probably top 10 protected or something. Not sure

Detroit also retains half salary in the deal to make the money work better. Have to think that the bruins are going to need to offload some salary now. Sweeney has been busy. Wasn't expecting this trade.

Was hoping for more especially an in division trade with retention but I guess with injuries and the vaccine drama who knows what the market really looked like for Bert.

Just hope he stays healthy. This is trade comes with some moderate risk. Playing on the third line might give Bert a boost though.

Detroit is doing pretty well with picks too. Stevey Y masterplan.

Meh. Yzerman still has a mediocre draft history especially with 1sts. Hoping he flips assets for young NHLers.

He just might. I think his drafting is just a bit better than his free agency spending though. Just a little.
