I just finished off the comment section of the last blog saying lets get ROR for 3C. Have said it a few times the past few weeks. I'm all about it. Lets do it.

Lemieux and Burkle deserve a lot of blame for hiring Hextall. It never made much sense and the Penguins are paying for it now. FSG owns the decision not to clean house this summer.

I still have no idea what Brian Burke does here all day.

They do. I hated it from the minute I heard they interviewed Hexy. I didn't want a retread who ultimately did a pretty lousy job in Philly. They were lazy hires IMO.

Looks like Jarry is close. Rutta too. Both practiced today in regular jerseys.

It's more baffling how both hextall and burke survived the ownership change... makes no sense.

Curious if RoR really really burned all bridges with Colorado. They sure could use him as a rental.

That's good to hear, Jarry is our most important piece. I'd like to get a goalie and upgrade the third line.

Hextall should just go for broke and offer up that 20-ish 1st 2023 pick. I don't see him being around long enough to use it anyway.

I said the same thing. If he sits on his hands and this team goes splat, he'll be gone before the draft.

March schedule is brutal. Pens play every other night. I wonder what Jeff Carter will look like after that? What's going to be the trickle down on the aging top 6 when the 3rd line gets caved during that stretch?

ROR has been a dream 3C for like 10 years. Maybe it's finally feasible.

I like the idea of Meier much better long term. But ROR would be a helluva upgrade for this year.

There are several trades that I would like to see the Penguins make to improve the team. The players that I would like to acquire are Timo Meir (Would send out 1st, prospect, Kapanen, Pettersson), Ivan Barbashev (sending out McGinn, 3rd round pick), Jake McCabe (Sending Dumoulin, 2nd round pick), Karel Vejmelka (Sending DeSmith, Blueger). Meir would be new 2RW with Rust as 3RW. New 3rd line-Carter LW, Barbashev C, Rust RW. New LD-McCabe, Joseph, Smith. Goalie trade is based on last two playoff exits. I think the potential is there on all of the trade proposals. I know it is a lot, but maybe I miss the fun of the Ray Shero days.

Canucks and Isles played each other last night....so soon after that big trade...and Beauvillier scored the winner for the Nucks haha wild stuff.

Speaking of the Isles, who are nipping at the heels of a wild card spot the Pens are in....the Pens now have 5 games in hand on them. That's crazy. Please keep picking up points, Pens, please.

Probably like a raging bull ready to be one of the top point producers in the 5-7 playoff games the Pens will appear in this year.

lol dude wasn't even in the top 5.

Not to mention leading the forwards in on-ice goals against at 5v5.

I guess he is just good for goals. Not much on assists, but look who he has to play with.

TIFWIW.... As far as trades go, one of DK's sources says Hextall and Burke are "cooking up something".

GMJR days were the most fun. He's addicted to tinkering....for better or worse.

I want a 3C who's signed for next year. Henrique would be ideal. Somebody mentioned Roslovic the other day. Jenner?

I’d be looking to upgrade the top six. What’s the point of bolstering a bottom six when the top six can barely skate with good teams?

How do you come to this conclusion when the top two lines are above 50 and 60% in xGF%, HDSC% and CF%? Not to mention the boat loads of actual production they've provided at 5 on 5?

As for trading for a top 6 player, I agree. If it pushes a current top 6 player further down lineup, or they end up in bottom 6 themselves, then great. Pens are deeper. I think ROR fits this bill. He's a 2C.

Havent/Cant be around here to much anymore but will say... Pens for sure have interest in Domi and Mccabe and had talks about a package deal before the all star break. Sam Bennett 100% on the radar as well. Couple others scouted in the past month... Barbashev, Acciari, Greiss, Mikkola, Hoglander, Myers, Demko, Joshua, Meier and Reimer
