To win in the playoffs you need depth which the forward group is severely lacking. Pick 2 of your top 9 to go down and what do you have left?? They dont have to be big names but guys like Bonino, Brassard, Nyquist and Athanasiou should be on the radar.

Florida is three points out of wildcard, not sure I see them as sellers this deadline.

In the past Stastny and Hayes were two deadline pick ups no one had linked to us, so with that in mind here are a couple to not rule out;

Dylan Larkin
Zach Parise
Adam Henrique
Lawson Crawse
Ryan Johansen

Peter Tessier does not get the credit he deserves. I remember 2 nights prior to the trade deadline he reported that the Jets were in on Stastny. The major papers and sports channels completely missed the story.

The only player listed above that gets me excited is Dylan Larkin. Lowry has shown that he’s a great 4th line center this year and there is nothing wrong with that. In 2017-18 when the Jets made the conference he was the teams 4th line center. It would be amazing to have another center that can produce offence playing on our 3rd line.

Pionk and Stanley have been a total tire fire when paired together. When it comes to trade time I'd be more than happy to part with either or both of them. Samberg in particular definitely gets the nod over both of them.

The Jets have really stunk of late. It seems they definitely don't fare very well against Eastern Division teams. Bruins & Hurricanes are going to be especially tough to beat and there are others.

Chevy is going to have some tough choices over the next month.

The Jets could use a physical d-man like Vancouver's Schenn and he could be had for a second round pick.
See if any team would take useful d-man like Schmidt in a trade as it would open up $ to trade for and resign a player like Meier.
Meier would take a player like Pionk a #1 pick and a prospect to make that happen.
Also Monahan would be a player that the Jets could use as well and he would come much cheaper then other players mentioned in trade scenario's.
This team has to make some changes in order to do anything in the playoffs.

One thing Chevy has to determine is "are we buyers or sellers?" I think - and hope - it is the former but the Preds, Blues, and Avs are not far behind, and so we've got to get our "sheeskabob" together - and soon!

Assuming we're buyers - guys that I have in mind are Konency, Chychrun, Crouse, Tuch, Okposo, Meier, Horvat and one of L. Schenn/Edmundson. Some of these guys will be available, others won't be.

Available: Heinola, Pionk, Stanley, Maenalanen, Barron, Kuhlman, B. Lambert, Chisholm, Gawanke, Reichel, H. Nikkanen, and either our 1st or 2nd 2024 picks

But let's sit tight to see where we are near the end of Feb. Big game on Monday night!

Can't trade that asset!!

Lambert apparently has missed 2 or perhaps more games now with Seattle due to visa issues.

I thought the guys showed up and looked good on Saturday, stood shoulder to shoulder facing a tough physical Flyers team - fans were obviously inspired. They were co-ordinated and covered their assignments just the way it was written up and had a few good runs. They were together with tight harmonies, crescendos and dimiinuendos and covered the lows to the highs. Way to go Hoosli!

If he is not part of this year's Jets run to the cup, he is tradeable. We would easily get an asset like that in a return for PLD or Scheifele.

I would more than happily trade away Lucius if it meant that we were getting an O'Reilly, Patrick Kane, or Timo Meier as part of the return.

Based on the last 2 games (Buffalo and Philly) it looks like more of a crawl to the cup.

Horvat just set the trade market.

Islanders did not give up much to get him…….

Also sad news about Bobby Hull. Not to sure about who he was personally, but from what I have heard he was a hell of a hockey player.

The Isles gave up plenty Räty is starting to look the part, he did drop his draft year but a very good prospect.
Beau is a fast winger with good hands, need to play with the right Center but good player

Now the pick is only top 12 protected so 4 lottery slots still there and unprotected in 2024 which may be better.

NYI have the oldest roster in the league, don’t understand this deal at all.

Yeah I think the Canucks did pretty good all things considered.

Idk wtf Lou was thinking, traded the 13th overall pick in the last draft for Romanov who looks like a 2nd pair dman at best and now traded what looks to be another 13th overall pick in a deeper draft for a UFA, he just keeps making his team older. Assume the Isles will sign Horvat but his contract isn't gonna look very good from day one of it, cant imagine there's too many Islanders fans who are happy with this trade.

Good bounce back win. Character to be down by 2 and come back, like a game 3 of playoff round, down 2 games (being the last two losses)

I think Morrissey was challenging the croud somewhat, maybe a bit of a FU for booing.

But seriously, the team in the last 5 -6 games stopped cycling, thus no greasy goals, lost the edge in 50/50 puck retrieval, and couldn't get the puck out of the zone, gave the puck away unforced. So, when fans see the work ethic diminish, fans go offside.

Chevy wont trade Lucius, as much as i would like to see a Meier come our way. With centre pos'n being up in the air with potential departures of PLD and Scheif........ I just dont see the team giving up a high prized centre that could possibly replace departing centres two years down the road.

Stanley, Heinola, Lambert, Chisholm, Mcgraoty, are all tradeable prospect assets.

Lucius is 19 years old dominating the WHL, much like another couple of former Jets prospects did when they were 19. Nik Petan and Mateo Genero come to mind. I don’t see him as being a high prized future asset.
