Team sucked first half of the game, which is the Devils gameplay apparently.

Also, not sure when it became cool to try a million backhand passes with no meat behind it, always getting picked off by the Canes. Seemed like there was some running bet on the team regarding these bad passes - everyone was doing it.

Vanicek was in net.

But when Mercer scored you got a tingle, when Jesper score 18 seconds later it tuned into a full on erection that lasted all game.

I'd be ok with Haula Centering Jack and another high offence winger, and not producing offensively if he won many FO and played a bit more defensive. Let Jack and the other guy supply the offence. Let Haula have that niche role.

I thought he and Bratt had great chemistry so not sure why that hasnt been revisited.

That’s like the kovy zajac parise days. How about we get a real player with them and not some bum we shouldn’t have traded for.

Haula is a fine 3rd liner who you could bump up when protecting a lead later in the game. There is no reason for him to be permanently stapled to one of the best offensive players in the game especially when he can't score.

I'm amazed at how much Jack has grown and gotten better. Everytime he's out he gets a chance through great passing, shooting, dangling. He looks like a man out there, not that scrawny kid.

He took it to another serious level and he's 21.

He's gonna be that homegrown superstar we all were waiting for that the Devil's never really had upfront.

I was always "Why can't we have that superstar? Why can't we ever get lucky?". I think we got the best one since Mcdavid.
