I’m gonna say Sens gets back on the win streak
I’m gonna say 4-2 Win with an empty net
And yes I would play Heatherington
Chabot Hamonic
Sanderson Holden
Heatherington Brannstrom

I worry about the Stars after getting shutout on home ice the other night. I certainly would love to see a win tonight, against a top team in the West. I hope Debrincat starts to figure it out from within. Everyone says DJ needs to get him with the proper linemates but at 9M a year, as a player it also has to come from within too.
I agree with you on Heatherington. Sit Zaitsev.

Stars have the third best goal differential in the league too, plus only Boston and Buffalo have scored more goals than Dallas!

Calgary Flames forward Kevin Rooney, Edmonton Oilers winger Tyler Benson, Colorado Avalanche forward Martin Kaut and New York Rangers centre Ryan Carpenter have been placed on waivers Thursday.

Any takers??!!

Let’s face it, the Sens poor start means another year of Dorion’s futility. He has to go along with his Junior B coach DJ. Why Dorion would not try to save his job by bringing in an experienced coach is baffling. I assume the 3 man board he reports to have now tied his hands due to the upcoming sale of the club. The new owners know the Senators have no real chance of making the playoffs so let’s tank! There is no one better at losing than PD and DJ so let’s keep them on board to get another good first round pick! Quite sad!

Yup.

Why Zaitsev. Why.
Why is the third line out for a D zone draw. Lose face off. Whammo.

Forsberg looks shaky.

Team's been getting some decent chances though.

So infuriating that this team can look so strong and then so bad so quickly.

They looked very good in the second half of the period.

Your coach makes endless mistakes that are so preventful. Truly bizarre.

Team is playing well. Good backcheck happening. Top line playing like a top line.

Nice move by Batherson to make that short pass rather than shooting creating an easy goal for Brassard.

Weak goal by Forsberg but nice save off of Pavelski.

The worst Dman in all of hockey everywhere in the world having a strong game so far closing the gap and breaking up rushes while creating offense and tying the game with a nice shot from the point.

Kevin Francis: Sens Gameday in Dallas/Dorion tried very hard to trade Formenton!
- Kevin Francis

Nice to have you back!

I wonder what Ottawa will do with Formenton. Personally I wish they traded him long ago but now let's hope they just manage their assets well. I am not happy with the development of their D-men. Getting Brannstrom for Mark Stone is disappointing, Hamonic is a good 3rd pairing/reserve D-man but not a solution on a top 4 trying to compete for the playoffs - JBD not being here doing great things like Sandin has done - Lassi Thomson, our top pick in 2019 - it's disappointing they don't have better defensive depth behind Chabot + Zub. They can't do it on their own. Sanderson is amazing obviously but they need 1 horse on the back end that is solid in his own zone (as many have pointed out)

F off Forsberg!

They need a number 1 goalie just as much if not more than a top 4 D. They never going to win anything with the likes of Forsberg or Talbot.

Even the Dallas cheerleader broadcasters were saying if you choose to protect a 1 goal lead for the whole third period you're going to get in trouble.

On top of that who does Smith put out there for a defensive zone faceoff with 40 seconds to go? Of course it's the fourth line.

I agree the goaltending isn't in the top 10 but it's not in the bottom 10, is it? Their SV% is not in the bottom 10 (at least I don't think so). Only 5-6 teams let more Shots against per game.

I like Sanderson but that goal was rough; he has to be more aggressive and get that puck. He looked great going into the offensive zone in OT

So ya put your best FO guys out there and Giroux was out before that 🤷‍♂️

There's a difference between not taking excessive chances, and not taking a single shot on goal for 15 minutes. I really think there's something broken in DJ Smith's head... his concept of team defence is just about retreating and collapsing. And hey, what do you know... another loss with one of the top-3D out of the lineup. That puts their record at 3-11-2 now when one of Chabot, Zub, or Sanderson is out of the lineup, vs. 7-3-0 when they're all in the lineup. Note to Dorion: that means you need another G-D defenceman.

They played a great game and should have won but no team can survive that kind of goaltending. Two unbelievably soft goals. Come on!

Hopefully Sanderson will one day be as good as he now thinks he is.

Their number one priority needs to be to find a goalie so that when they finally do make it to the playoffs they don't lose because of a series of incredibly soft goals at the worst possible time.

Both Forsberg and Talbot are the guys who will make spectacular saves in any given game but let in unbelievably weak goals that just kill a team.

They have time because there is no pressing urgency. They're not making the playoffs this year so instead of getting fleeced for that top 4 D everyone knows you're looking for use DeBrincat and something else to get you a top goalie prospect.

As far as a steady top 4 Dman goes I have no idea. Everyone keeps throwing out names like Chychrun who would cost a lot and doesn't really fit but that's supposed to be why you have scouts. To find those guys you need that fit at a reasonable price and if your scouts can't find them when other teams seem to have no problem finding them then you fire those scouts.

Anyway good game. I don't envy Smith's post game.

Something I've been hearing more and more of late is how there are players who don't want to play for a Canadian based team.

Canadian teams generate a huge part of the NHL revenue that pays their salaries.

You don't want to play for a Canadian based team then fine. You forfeit that part of your salary that is generated by the Canadian market.

If that doesn't work then you are not allowed to participate in games played in Canada.

Piss off! We don't need you. Time to end this nonsense.
