There's some pretty bad teams this year as well. Only way we're cracking top 5 pick is a lottery win. In saying that, we're slowly moving down the standings and if I were to guess, we'll finish between bottom 5 and 10 in the actual standings.

it's true that there's some stiff competition for who can suck the most among the bottom dwellers, but there are also a few teams that are having an unexpectedly turrible start to the season, and if those teams eventually get their poop together then that should help the habs in finishing lower/getting a better draft pick...

Must be great for these kids to watch veteran players completely screw them out of a game like that

"Last night, it was his tripping penalty which started the chain of unfortunate events which would ultimately cost the Canadiens the game. It was the first of 6 consecutive penalties to the Habs".

You can't pin that MCDive on Arber....soft call....and he isn't/wasn't responsible for the stupidity of Eddy's out of control cross check to the head...he already had subdued Hyman with the one cross check..the 2nd cross check was down right mean...even though I love Eddy...a veteran making a very very unfortunate play...that's not on Arber!.

it's the ideal learning environment for them to develop in...

hey kid, did you see that very dumb and lazy penalty I just took? you should definitely avoid doing that.

Hopefully the coached learned something too. You know edmonton was going to put Mc Jesus and Draino out for the last minute (they do this all the time) . You don't let your 4th line have to deal with that.

Seems to me the Habs played better defensively, and much better hockey overall, with Edmundson and Matheson both out of the line up.

While Matheson has been OK at times (and seems to be getting better by the game), Edmundson has been a disaster.

Getting hard to justify sitting out one of the kids in favour of Edmundson at this point (unless they are actively trying to trade him).

You guys have no chance to defeat a team at "sucking" that has Dallas Eakins coaching.

with a few injuries and a couple of bad trades I'm sure Paul Maurice could also be in the mix, unfortunately for him the team he's currently coaching has too many skilled players to fully display the extent of his mediocrity.

the coach, like the kids, is also learning on the job. still puzzled that they didn't find him a vet coach to support him.

Apparently they tried to hire Andrew Brunette.

agreed, perhaps it's St-Louis who didn't want a more experienced guy interfering with his decision-making but logically he would benefit from it more than anything.

I guess the lateral move wasn't worth it for him.

not sure if it's because of its explicit nature, or because it was stuffed with three kilos of pure cocaine, but that chicken has permanently altered life on HB for me.
