Jan Levine: Another blown lead for New York in 3-2 OT loss to Ott., Chicago in tonight Slump and poor play continues

Unsure I could have had a worse 24 hours as a fan. Wake up this am to find out Jacob deGrom signed a 5-year, $185 mil deal with Texas. The Rangers blew another late-game lead and lost in overtime. Team US lost 3-1 in the World Cup to the Netherlands and the Knicks got waxed in the third quarter at home and were blown out by Dallas. Fun times.

USA game was very frustrating. Reminded me a lot of a Rangers/Islanders game. Rangers the more skilled team, but Islanders clog lanes and capitalize on our mistakes. Team USA had the ball for 75% of the game but just couldn’t get clean opportunities.

From what I read, that's what it sounded like. Lots of good chances in first half - especially early.- but couldn't capitalize.

USA is too small up front and no real striker options. Been their downfall all World Cup. Played a good game but all 3 defensive breakdowns ended up in their net. Netherlands were just clinical and showed their experience
