OK i'll bite.
Rooney gets waived and either Phillips or Pelletier is called up.
Rooney's not really contributed much at all and by making this move the Flames would actually realize a 200 - 300 K Cap savings (unlikely but 400 -500 K if Rooney is claimed).

Better question, does Chucky get booed or a rousing ovation?

Chucky shouldn’t get booed, he was a fan favourite here. They name him captain last year, I’m sure he stays long term.
Great 1st period, does anyone else feel better with Vladar in net?

I miss Tkachuk. Love him or hate him, he was one of the most entertaining players to wear a Flames Jersey.

Flames seem to lack an emotional spark plug.

Amazing what happens when you put your most talented player on your top line. I wonder why no other teams do that.

Me too Duran. I miss Chucky on the Flames. He is a special player and creates a lot of excitement and fun. Still feels weird seeing him in a Panthers jersey.

You think , knowing what you know now, he would have made a good Captain? He kinda folded like a cheap tent after game 2 against the Oilers in the playoffs.

should be an easy 2pts for the Flames tonight. Just don't injure Monahan please, Habs would like to be able to trade him for a decent return before the TDL.

Nothing comes easy for this Flames team. Habs look to be trending in the right direction. Hughes fleeced Tre on that Monahan deal, he knew the flames needed cap space and took advantage of it.
I’d expect Monny to get an even bigger ovation tonight, class act, to bad for the injuries.

He is a class act, if the Habs were further ahead in their rebuild, most Habs fans would want him resigned but Habs are still a few years away from having a good team and the next draft is important, they need all the picks they can get. Monahan is finally healthy, hope for him it stays that way and he can get a decent contract next summer with a competitive team.

My understanding of the whole Monahan saga is unclear.

Every summer Monahan got a lot of surgeries. I understand that the Flames could not "make" Monahan get the surgery he needed. This last summer, Monahan finally decided to get the necessary surgery that "fixed" him.

During his last three years as a Flame, he was horrid. As a Flames fan, I am happy he has rebounded, but the whole situation is pretty frustrating.

Looking into buying a Tkachuk Blasty jersey for sale.....$80. I can't blame the guy for picking living in Florida over Alberta.

He had multiple surgeries while playing for the Flames and had the same surgery this past offseason as he did the offseason before, only on the other hip. He also isn't fixed and hasn't really rebounded at all. He's on pace for basically the exact same season he had with the Flames in 20-21 and only a minor bump up from last year, which is mostly from them giving him a bunch of ice time.

Great guy, but still a broken shell of a hockey player, and I really don't see there being all that much interest for him at the deadline.
