Not a fan of that last sentence dig at the Hawks, RW...maybe it makes me a piece of sh!t but I didnt even think about all that stuff when I saw those Hawks alumni lined up in the pic...I thought about all they had accomplished on the ice. |

The Blackhawks got their core back together to reminisce on how they all let Kris Beech down. That’s their legacy. Not the championships - boilermaker100
It's KYLE BEACH. If you're going to be sanctimonious, at least get his name right. |

Ryan Wilson, SJW douchebag of the year entry. At least get the player's name right, it's very disrespectful to get his name wrong.
If you're gonna go this route, I guess the legacy of Mario Lemieux during his time as Penguins owner was letting Jarrod Skalde and his wife down. |

I'd like to see RW and Tanner have a SJW-off. |

I think it was just the fact that he was blogging about politics and not hockey, on top of that. The uncle tom thing probably topped the cake. |

Maybe he was actually talking about ex-Penguins Kris Beech and meant to say the Penguins legacy was tarnished by letting him down for not playing him more? |

I may be a little old school but forgive me for not feeling sorry for Kyle Beech one bit. - Grinder47
Not feeling empathy for rape victims isn't "old school," it's being a terrible person. |

Yeah for sure....and a crazy thing about the world we currently live in is that someone could read my comments here today and think/assume I don't care about what happened to him or that I don't have empathy for him...but that's not the case at all. I just don't think about that stuff when I think about the Blackhawks or see their championship core players in a picture when one of their jerseys is being retired.

Its crazy we are all even discussing this on the Geno 1000th game blog. Absolutely no need of that last sentence in a blog covering a very special night for a very special Penguin. |

I was at the game last night with my son. We made a wish list of all things that would be cool to have happen before the game. The game didn't disappoint.
1. Pens win a close game
2. Hossa number retired
3. Malkin's 1,000 game
4. Crosby Score his 1st Chicago Goal
5. Get a warm-up puck
Got everything off our list. Amazing night |

Why did the hawks choose the pens as the night to retire his number? Why not Ottawa? |

Why did the hawks choose the pens as the night to retire his number? Why not Ottawa? - ChrisMS
The Ottawa game is 2 weeks prior to the trade deadline. They probably wanted to be sure that Toews and Kane would be in the building for the ceremony. (As for why not Detroit, it would have meant some of their fans showing up and booing him.) |

Why did the hawks choose the pens as the night to retire his number? Why not Ottawa? - ChrisMS Maybe because in a "think outside the box" way, the Pens were responsible for him ending up in Chicago.
He really wanted a Cup. Traded to us and we lost in the Finals. Said F' us and our long term contract to sign for a year with the team that beat us. We beat them and he said F' Detroit to sign with Chicago. If we had won in "08 or lost in '09 he may have stayed a Pen or a Wing.
