It should happen given how this team is performing. Francis did a hell of a retool job and this team is really coming together, building an identity.

Jones has been very good. Cant argue with his mumbers which has been the biggest surprise given his record before.

Overall couldnt be happier. Just need to keep it rolling.

Soucy gets find for that shot on PLD last night that sort of cost them.

Need the Wright situation dealt with too.

Martin Jones isn’t all that bad of a goalie. Any goalie would have looked horrible being protected by those Sharks team

True enough and know goalies are a bit hard to predict too but he hadnt been that great in LA either really after that first year. I think he definitely has found a different level in Seattle here. I was not at all a fan and have been pleasantly surprised. Credit where its due.

He was pretty damn good in San Jose the first three seasons. Then they traded for Karlsson and the wheels fell off that team playing any sort of defense. Hopefully he can maintain the solid play.

I didnt think he was ever that good. Watched him live in LA and was not that impressed honestly. Poor man's Hasek. I think the one thing that I have noticed is he is settled down a lot more these days, more positional, less scrambly. He has been really good and Im giving him the credit there. He has been what the team needed and given them a chance to win even when they've lost. I think there's only been one maybe two games where I thought he was a bit weaker.

I really think you hit the nail there on the head. Play hard in front of him. Kraken block a lot of shots and take away space well. They have been far tougher in front and around their own net this year. It is definitely helping.

Jones is decent. Reminds me of a level like Reimer but maybe a step above? Not elite or a guy you build a team around.

Yeah, I would have gone meh ok if he was a backup but to expect him to carry a team and be that number one? Not the guy I would have even considered. He has really just excelled. Im kind of surprised, but in a good way here cause Kraken needed him to step it up and he has.

All they needed was some goaltending. Honestly, if they had that last year they likely competed for a playoff spot. I'm glad Francis didn't go nuts in the off season and over correct.

I still want Hakstol fired though.

I think it wasn't just goaltending though. Defence is MUCH improved. Lauzon was NOT a good guy to have back there. Schultz was a good replacement for Gio and Soucy has grown into replacing Lauzon by miles. Better play there.

Plus the forwards. Bjorkstrand Burakovsky et all have really added that puck control and improved the passing. That has lead to a lot more goals and a lot better time spent on attack.

I do still not like Hak though too I completely agree there.

I agree but it makes it easier to play when you trust your goalie.

Kraken vs Shesterkin and the Rangers tonight.

Definitely need to be more disciplined and not give the Rags 7 PP like the Jets. Hopefully can get some early goals and be strong in front of Jones. Back on the winning ways here.

So far so good. Fast early McCann goal and some solid defence here as we work the clock down for period 1. Jones making some nice stops here too considering we are being badly outshot.

Damn Turbo getting called on a penalty. Hooking in the hands which prevented a chance in front of the net. Not a bad one to take really.

Damn, got the cross crease pass through and its in. 1-1.

Shesterkin robbing the Kraken at one end and Jones returns the favor on Kakko.

HUGE goaltending battle tonight going on and Jones is making the big saves!

Olofsson has been sent back to Coachella.

Gru is back and off the IR. Now the question is can he earn back the net from a red hot Jones?!

Huge divisional game tonight. Next two being divisional will really be a big test and chance for the Kraken.

LA losing to the Nucks coming in. Kraken off the big OT win.

Petersen vs Jones looks to be the matchup in net. Jones won in LA 4-1 prior.

And here we go. Game time.

Intermission Leafs game covered Wright and looks like after tonight he will be Coachella bound for the conditioning stint. Means he will get in 5 AHL games before coming back about Dec 4. Kraken get Montreal in there before WJC and betting he will be going to that for more games there too.

Gru backing up Jones.

2nd of 4 meetings. Here we go.

There it is!!! Just before 5 min in and it is McCann with his team leading 7th of the year. Fortunate bounce and wide open cage to net it!!!! 100th Career tally!

1-0 Kraken!!

And 7-1-1 when scoring first so this is boding very well on a big game night. great damn start so far.

Pretty fast opening frame. Shots close, but Kraken blocking shots and limiting chances out there. Got a nice bounce and struck for the lead and opening goal. Need to just stay on the Kings now.
