Campbell will in time play some good hockey for the Oilers. He is not as bad as he has looked so far.
He will never be the guy however to win you a playoff series because he lets bad goals get to him.
He is the anti-Curtis Joesph who according to him never let in a bad goal in his life. It was always a perfect shot or he was screened or anything but him.
Campbell needs more of that attitude or he will never be a true number 1, despite his physical skills which are considerable.

"The team needs to work with him and help him through this."

Problem solved! Why didn't you do that with Koskinen?

Seriously, I liked him in Toronto, but he was fragile, and I guess that was what made him likeable. As soon as he wanted 5 million, I REALLY liked him...in a different team's jersey.

Tough situation. But hey, at least you got Hyman!

We had a string of great goaltenders. Fuhr, Moog, Ranford, Joseph, Salo, Roloson.

Then came Khabibulin, Dubnyk, Bryzgalov, Scrivens, Talbot, Koskinen, Smith (probably the best of the lot).

Jury is still out on Campbell and Skinner.

Would have been nice to see that high danger scoring chance save percentage prior to us taking him. I would have been far less keen on the signing.

However, it has to be said, both the Laffs and the Oilers dont just give up grade A scoring chances. They give up grade AAA scoring chances. This will absolutely skewer those numbers.

I watch Campbell a lot in the playoffs and regular season and I always felt it was the team in front of him that failed rather than poor goaltending.

I think its very safe to say that the Oilers so far this year have been horrendous in front of him. That is absolutely a big part of the Oilers/his struggles early this year.

From what I've seen I know he can play a lot better. Hope he does so sooner than later.

Nope.
For the most part it was Campbell who failed himself and the team
We tried to tell you.

90% of oiler fans knew it was an awful contract to offer him. There are still some that think Holland actually knows what he is doing.

It's the same team playing in front of Campbell that is playing in front of Skinner. I don't doubt that both will improve/regress some respectively as we go on, but paying Campbell 25 over 5 was still a Koskinen level bad signing.

Nicholson has to go before parliament to testify.

What exactly has he done the last 8+ years to justify his position???

His position with the Katz group? Does he even have anything to do with Hockey Opps?
