Really thought this team would take a step up with their additions. Surprised David Poile hasn’t been more vocal, or hasn’t made a lineup move to make them uncomfortable. Who would have thought this team might be in the Bedard sweepstakes?

I like Poile but he is quite old and the way team’s were built in the past and team building today are two different things.
This team is in need of an younger and newer set of ideas.

Just my two.

I agree with you about younger and new ideas.
I'll give them this home stand to see if they have anything. Anything less than 4 wins is time to get rid of Hynes and his so called power play guru Lambert. Bring up Carl Taylor who has had a lot of these players in Milwaukee and done very well with them. I think both Poile's need to go along with Jeff Kealty who they say is their head scout. Seems to me scouting has been one of the things lacking. There is only about 10 or 11 players that are home grown. Clay this has been one of your better articles IMHO.

Not trying to troll here, but Saros was a vezina caliber tendy last year, and Johansson and Duchene both came out of years of slumps to pop off with career highs. While getting guys like Nino can be a good thing, he doesn't fill your teams needs. You guys need chemistry. Guys who move the puck well. Nino has 2 assists, and has always struggled to create chemistry. This team is overloaded with guys who can score from the perimeter, but lack so much in the cycling and possession aspects of the game. Lots of good pieces, and your team is better than their record indicates, but I also wasn't expecting the same success you had last season.

Just don't start winning until tomorrow. I need my Wings to win on home ice tonght. Thank you for your attention in this matter. This rebuild they're in has taken way too long to get going... but they're starting to turn the corner with Yzerman at the helm.
