I would love to know the persons thinking who voted no on Sorokin. If he can stay healthy and play consistently. No reason why he cannot contend for that award.

He currently sits in the top 5 of the goalie categories.

It would also mean that the Isles are playing well.

It may sound crazy but the Islanders really need to beat Detroit. 2 points separate the fourth place team and the twelfth place team. This is how crazy the east is right now and probably will be throughout the season.

By the end of this month there will most likely be separation between the pretenders and contenders. Usually how it works. Islanders have to keep their foot on the gas…

The stupid 3 point games keep things close. I wish they would change that rule.

Even with that the lesser teams start pittering out mid November and we should see some separation end of the month beginning of December. If a team like the Devils can keep going at this pace then you can throw that out the window but there’s a couple of teams with suspect goaltending I believe will start circling the drain. The pens are one of those teams imo. I don’t care if Jarry was an “all star” that dude sucks balls.

Absolutely. I didn't get the love he was getting from the hockey media. I was like, "Jarry? The same goalie the Isles saw in the playoffs the year before?"

They always stay reasonably competitive for the most part but with a more competitive division I think they may be one of the teams to falter a little bit. Especially if we can maintain this level of play.

Today's a good game for Varly to shake the rust off...

November 5th, 2019 Islanders win 10th in a row. Today’s vs. Detroit game is a must win!
Today is the 4th line’s opportunity to carry the weight.

Pretty obvious holding the stick there ends up with Romanov getting the hooking call.

Barzal with zero goals thus far on a two on one opts to pass. Why? He needs to shoot that. The d man took the pass....he had the look

This is why Bailey should never play on Barzal's line. 2 guys who are maddeningly pass-first players.

Someone needs to tell the Isles the game started at 1:00.

Yeah, I was pretty sure if that pass made it through Bailey would have just sent it back....

Maybe its a confidence thing, but they were on each others off wing, and the dman was playing the pass.....id like to see Barzal take that himself.

Being outshot 2 to 1, they need to shoot the puck. 4th line looks the strongest.

The crowd is pumped here for an afternoon game with there 25th anniversary celebration.

I’m here surrounded by red.
