Disagree with the 1st period. Seattle was dominant. 10-3 shots till late in the period. Kept Calgary boxed out and little chances and got the opening goal. Flames tried to fight to spark something and Big Rig shut that right down. Calgary dominated the 2nd pushing the play but Seattle weathered the storm. 3rd that 15 second span of bad bounces and two wuick strikes was well answered with a time out by Hak. It was the right call, settled the Kraken down and they went back to work. Got back into that focused grinding game and outworked Calgary to force turnovers and got the big comeback win.

They have been a lot better this season. Far more focused as a team. The goalie situation however is still troubling right now. They do need Gru back and healthy but they have managed to scrape out points.

This to me is the second biggest if not THE biggest issue with the team right now. Francis stating 6 minutes is too low and wants to see him up about 10-12 and feels he should be there, but Hak won't put him in and keeps scratching him? When he does get in it is barely over 6 min icetime on the 4th line?

That is a disconnect that HAS to get fixed and fast. Either send him down to play, or Hak has to get him in. Put him on the wing if he is not responsible and ready to go up the middle. Wingers have less responsability and get the kid on the second powerplay unit.

To me that really makes no sense and seems to be a disconnect/power struggle going on there.

Sweet win tonight vs Wild. Jones returns and makes a 22sv shutout. Wright finally got in there 13 min of icetime 2/4 in the faceoffs with a blocked shot and was a +1. Not bad even if it doesnt leap out. About time Hak!!

Still have that troubling trend of being outshot in the second period though. Guess not that bad when you can score 3.

Wild were awful. A listless performance. Kraken beat them to pucks and won the board battles. The Kraken took away space and were sound defensively.

Injuries didnt help the Wild’s case either.

That said Jones is dialed in as is the team playing far more responsible defensively. Wennberg scoring twice was icing on the cake given he wasnt that good last year. Geekie 3 goals in 3 games now is on fire too.

Nice little winning streak that is showing the Kraken cant be taken lightly this year.

The Wild have injuries but their effort was poor. The Kraken are making strides and are tough to play against. I’m thinking Wright will play 9 games and go down for the remainder of the year. What do you see happening with him?

With Wright it is tricky. Hak clearly has had no real interest in having him on the roster. Doesn't trust him to be out there. The GM clearly has said he is good enough to be on the team, recently stated he wanted him playing 10 or so minutes a game and getting into them. And right after he gets in vs the Wild and logs 13 minutes?

I think he will stay up. He will likely get that AHL stint for 14 games max, and probably loaned to Team Canada for WJC as well.

At this point I think Hak has probably been told to play him. We will see.

Racked up another win 3-2 over Pittsburgh. Team is really getting it done and pulling the wins out here. Gotta ride the hot streak.

On a plus side back to back games for Wright. Didn't start out well taking a penalty but... only 8:42 of ice this game still was +1 two blocked shots but 0/2 faceoffs. Still good that Hak is putting him out there and he is getting icetime to try and find a groove and get going. Back to back is a start.

Wright needs 15+ minutes a night or he'll never develop in my opinion

10-15 range Im ok with. Least he finally got into a couple back to back games there. Think really its just a battle between Hak and Francis on this that needs to get dealt with.

So far a steady solid 2nd. Some chances but mostly just taking away all of Nashvilles time and space. Not letting them get much going. Great effort and game so far for Seattle.

Nashville finally gets right in and Forsberg on a breakaway beats Jones after he made a great stop.

4-1 still but that was a big goal for the Preds

40 down. Preds finally got rolling but only Forsberg buried one. That was an ugly break that they capitalized on. Just have to keep limiting time and space, keep blocking shots.

Gourde mic’d and on the bench. Can really see his leadership and how vocal he is on the bench.

Period going fast. Seattle able to limit chances. Just 6 more mins.

2:58 icing on Kraken. Preds pull the goalie.

2:01. Kraken ice it.

1:47. Jones save and stop.

1:29 Dunn just ices it again

Turbo with a HUGE self effort for the ENG!! 5-1

5 consecutive wins. 3 game road trip sweep in the middle. 8th win of the season!

That’s Kraken Hockey Baby!!!

Magnus Hellburg is back in the fold, claimed off waivers.

Goaltending is better but it also has a LOT to do with better defence as well. Shultz is a good replacement on Gio, Soucy has really developed well and Borgen is far better than Lauzon was. I think even more is the much better group up front. Better offence, more skill. They control the puck a lot better. I still think the sustems in place leave them vulnerable but thats coaching. 5 game win streak though, cant argue with the early success they are having.

Looks like its Jones vs Fleury in net.

No Oleksiak tonight. Big Rig out and Calle Fleury drawing in for his first game this year.

Shut out last game 4-0 but thinking this wont be as easy a game for Seattle this time around.

Tough shutout loss. Damn you Fleury. Gave up that late 1st period goal and just couldnt get it back.

No Wright for the second straight game. Working towards that 5 games out to be able to send him to the A? Got to wonder.

He's not eligible to be sent to the A. They can loan him there on a conditioning stint, but otherwise he must go back to the OHL.

Yes. Which is what I was referring to. He has to be scratched 5 straight to be able to send him on the loan to the A for up to 14 games.

3rd in a row out of the lineu for Wright. 2 more to go.

Solid effort to take another point. Jones battling well in the net. Just keep banking points. Team is a whole lot better than last year
