I can't see any reason why the Isles would want to trade Dobson. I know I wouldn't.

I was thinking exactly the same way about moving Pinto up to center Giroux and Norris but not this season or at least not till the trade deadline if that's when they move DeBrincat if they do in fact decide to move him.

Bringing DeBrincat on was an absolutely brilliant marketing move and was worth the 3 picks just for that but his qualifying offer will be at least 9 million and I don't think there will be room under the cap to pay that and have enough left over to pay Pinto, Zub and Kastelec and I would rather keep those guys moving forward.

Pinto will prove to be too good to keep as a number 3 C and will get more money than you can give to a number 3 C.

Zub is a top 4 RD and last I looked they're not swamped with top 4 RDs. so they'd be crazy not to sign him and I can't understand why that hasn't already been taken care of.

Kastelec is you're perfect bottom 6 C and I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be your perfect number 3 C. He's big and fast, he's got good hands and is good on the dot.

I don't think Greig is ready yet. It might be Greig as well but it's just too early to say.

Plus there are about 8 other guys they are going to need to either pay or replace.

Pinto and Zub are playing like they want to join the 7-8 million per season club. A long season to come but both have taken a pretty significant step in their games this year. Those will be very interesting contract negotiations.

Branstrom is still looking strong but I am not sure Hamonic and Holden are guys I want on my blue line all year. Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Ethan Bear, and Noah Dobson are interesting names. I do think a body will come in on defence at some point.
