I'm sort of resigned to it being Engvall. The reality is that his $2.25m price tag isn't equitable to his value or our need for that value, when you compare it to the flexibility that we get by replacing him with a half-priced Aston-Reese.
Holl is an NHL-proven right-side defender who is a bottom-4 type - meaning he can slot into the top-4 if he has a sufficient partner, but he's ideally a bottom pairing guy who is better than a 6/7. With Liljegren out and Sandin needing time to ramp up, I think Holl's present value to the team is equitable to his cost.
Kerfoot is overpriced based solely on optics, but not on production. I was looking at his scoring logs - because I thought that perhaps his 51pts/38assists were largely factored in by Mikheyev's suprisingly high shooting percentage, and perhaps he was the beneficiary of that magic; but he wasn't. He assisted on only 4 of Mikheyev's goals. Kerfoot spent the year on every line, except basically PP1, and was never really out of place. He's not great. But if he scores 15 goals and 50pts in 80 games, he's well worth the $3.5m by adding depth scoring beyond the top line.

That’s what I think. There are so many Engvall types in camp. I’d move him now to avoid losing someone to waivers

Kerfoot or Engvall seem most likely.. Robertson hopefully can take the 2LW spot |

I agree there. Thinking it is Engvall who ends up moved.
I could see Simmonds go also, trade done as a courtesy by Dubas to a team that will play him ass opposed to waivers and minors with Clifford. |

I think if Simmonds is waived to the minors, he pulls a Spezza and says I will retire if someone claims me |

Isnt Engvall injured right now?
Kerfoot is worth 3.5m....its just that the leafs are tight for cap. |

Initially on a timeline that would have put the captain out of the lineup through at least Oct. 18, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said John Tavares is progressing and hasn’t ruled him out as an option against the Canadiens on Oct. 12.

And we need Kerfoot to centre the third line when we add Phil Kessel at the trade deadline. |

Maybe the Flyers to bring back a fan favourite for this year, as they purposely tank?
Yeah, I'm grasping at straws. |
