Nice to see you back!

I like what Stevie has put together and excited to see where the new coaching takes this team.

Good to see your posts again Jeremy. Welcome back.

It's been a really long time since there's been much excitement for the Wings. I'm going to be watching some Griffins games to see how some of the prospects develop. I think Edvinsson will probably get a ton of minutes and will adapt to the North American hockey quickly. I enjoyed watching him knock Malkin on his butt along the boards in yesterday's game.

The heck with hockey (for the next few lines anyway....)!

WELCOME BACK, my friend. I know it was a very arduous journey (believe me, I completely understand.....was in concussion therapy for 3 months after a really bad incident where a lady parked her car in my trunk; she was doing in excess of 70mph, I was stationary....) it's been for you. PLEASE know your body, Jeremy. Know that we support you, are OVER-JOYED you're back, and look forward to seeing how you do.

Now, back to the Wings:
It's been a tumultuous off-season with numerous changes, and LOTS of strong moves. Last night was hit-n-miss, but the kids look like they're going to be OK. I don't see the SCPO this year, but I do the DRW breaking LOTS of hearts as they eliminate teams in contention. Mo 'Sides will be in the hunt for Norris for a while, but won't make it for a couple of years....will continue to build his resume' and, as we've already seen this pre-season, will be the D-focus of opponents each game. He's going to be a VERY powerful defender for years to come.

Bert cut his hair?!?!?!?! Samson, anyone??????? Same ole Bert, though. There a certain chemistry on the top line. Off-season moves brought in some shoring-up material, maybe some TDL moves to gain draft picks. Perron was always a thorn in my side (as an observer), and always wanted him and Marchand to throw hands and get rid of each other.... Chiarot was an over-pay, but there seems to be chemistry between him & Mo 'Sides, worth watching this season.

Not sure who's been watching, but there's a massive implosion happening north of the border with Hockey Canada. Methinks the tentacles of shame & abuse will reach far and wide before it's all over. Sad to see, but these types of things cannot be accepted, and those involved must pay the price.

This is like an Old Boys rugby match; catching up with folks you've not seen or spoken to in years, getting muddy/dirty/happy with......miss rugby, and missed Jeremy & this blog; a bright, sane place to reset the mind and soul.

Welcome back Jeremy. As a Hawk fan, in the past, I always read the Chicago blogs first before visiting yours. I think you're one of the most knowledgeable bloggers on this site and look forward to reading your content.

The New York Islanders have signed Mathew Barzal to an eight-year extension worth a total of $73.2MM. The deal will start in 2023-24 and carries an average annual value of $9.15MM. Is this a comparable for Larkin? I think he is shooting for 8 x $9M and this Barzal contract is a compelling argument.

Good to hear from you again, Jeremy. It sounds like things are still difficult, and obviously your health should always come first, but I do hope you're able to continue finding ways to enjoy the games and check in with us as you are able.

You guys are all amazing, thank you so much! It’s good to be back.

I set the roster after all the signings and just stared at it. After years of the team not making big moves, it felt so strange to see so many new faces. Hoping Copp gets back in the lineup and that we have a center really take a big step forward. Glad to be here

I honestly have no idea. One thing Yzerman does well is get players to take a little less and vision build. I’m actually concerned about Seider’s next deal just because he could be one of those rare bigger dollar 2nd deals that we haven’t had too many of. My heart things larkin could leave a little money on the table for the good of the team

Welcome back! I knew my occasional check ins would find a post eventually.

I was at the game, bit the bullet and got season tickets. Seemed about as lackluster as a preseason game could. Excited for Friday night, hoping the turn it up a notch as a tune up for next week.

Welcome back! I hope you are doing well. As you can see, you have been greatly missed

I think we will see improvements this season, but how much, only time will tell. The coaching change alone has me excited to watch the games and see how it all unfolds.
