I thought in general there were more positives than anything, I liked what I saw for this first pre-season game

and does Allen change his mask every year? it's nice but I thought his previous one was nicer.

Guhle, Harris and Barron can all move well with the puck and that’s really refreshing after years of watching a smothering defensive style.

^This ... this is what I noticed the most tonight, our defensemen' mobility.
That Guhle kid is gonna be a good one.

Good analysis overall.

I know it's way too early to worry, but I don't think it's a good thing that I noticed Beck more than Slafkovksy last night.

Yeah...it's just that I'm waiting for the "wow". He's a first overall pick after all.

Yeah well, NYR have been waiting for a "Wow" from Lafrenière for 2 years...be patient.

He's a 6'4 238 lbs 18 years old who can skate and has good vision...he'll get there. Looks to me like he's a little "top heavy", his centre of gravity seems too high so stronger NHL players can knock him off balance too easily for his size.

Matheson had a pretty good game last night. Don't think we'll miss Petry if he keeps playing like this.

These type of players always have slower starts to a season (and career)

last night really reassured me....about drafting in the top 5, potentially top 3 They have great young pieces that will take time to develop...but they are not there yet.

Of the 4 centres in yesterday's game, Kirby Dach was the oldest at 21. Future looks bright
