THe problem isn't the number of the games it's the fact that they're televising them. These games aren't for our entertainment. I doubt Woodcroft or Holland would tell you that there are too many in the schedule.

I wonder if Holloway can play the right side, he sure looked better out there than Poolparty did, IMO. If Virtanen doesn't shine tonight, I wouldn't be surprised to see him released from the PTO before the next game. They should be using everything game 3 and on to set their line-ups and start building chemistry before the real action starts.

The players hate it and looking at the roster that is going to Seattle tonight, it’s pretty clear the coaches don’t care much for it either. Nothing about these games simulates anything close to a regular season game. The only people who like it are the ones who benefit from collecting ticket sales.

A preseason is very necessary in order to compare players that are fighting for the same spot. It's very necessary to see how players can adapt to different roles and different situations. Management is looking at certain players and how they perform under certain circumstances.

The preseason is not there for the fans' personal enjoyment and entertainment, it is there to compare, contrast players, and to construct a team for the start of the season.

All hockey players and teams at all levels across the entire country are going through this tryout process right now and you say it's "dumb", why? You just want to see offensive superstar athletes scoring highlight reel goals?

I think the preseason and exhibition games is an extremely interesting time of year, from novice all the way up to the pros. I

Such an unfortunate take on a very necessary and important part of constructing a team. Players absolutely do not "hate it". The ones that are on the bubble for a job certainly do not think it's a waste of time as they battle for their careers. The vets playing are constantly tinkering with things (sticks, skates, hollow, gloves, injuries, braces, helmets, wax, you name it). Seriously bud, you should know this stuff.

Ask any vet. They will tell you they need two/three games maximum to get ready for the regular season. Guys like Holloway could play in all five games and make themselves known but there is no reason for guys like Esposito, Philp, Griffith,
Kambietz, Engaras, Peters, Kaldis, Fanti, and many many others to be getting playing time.

Many vets do not like the preseason, I agree. But the preseason is indeed necessary. It's 80% to find out where your prospects are at when it comes to their development, 20% to get the team ready for opening day. Although, I will admit, if you do not have a fairly exciting prospect pool, these games are boring.

My judgment has been handed down. It is now the law of the land. An appeal can be filed

The players hate it. Some of the coaches (Brind'amour, for example) profess to hate it.

The games tell you nothing about who is going to perform and who isn't when all the veterans on the club are going at 75% effort.

All the fan bases are dumb. 99% of the criticisms are just outdated bullpoop the posters didn’t even witness, just read some other bumholes post and next thing you know it becomes widespread knowledge .
Like, for example, how many wienerheads have you heard say Draisaitl ain’t poop without McDavid?
Or the same wienerheads that say Austin Mathews is like the reincarnation of Guy Carboneau in his own end, but McDavid is basically Brett Hull defensively?
Even worse than posters are the opinions of Bloggers on 3rd rate rumour sites like this one.

I would say that the vast majority of oiler fans are snake bitten enough to not get out of control. Most of the ridiculous statements are trolls. This is a 3rd rate rumour site though haha, but the oiler blogger keeps it real. Just my opinion.

Overall he’s a decent blogger. Sometimes goes a little too homerish. But that’s kind of his job. He’s just stuck writing for an incredibly shitty organization.

You're on the wrong blog for your diatribe...
