He's got an offer on the table. If he's that worried, maybe he should take the offer(assuming it's very reasonable) for both parties. If he has a poop season, sucks to be him.

Prime example, John Klingberg. His agent told him to wait for 8M a season long term even after they offered him 8 years 7M per season. Now he has a 1 year deal at 7M.

Whining that people only complain about the Canucks salary cap situation (in a Canucks blog) when there are lots of other teams who have the same (or worse) situations is idiotic. Good for them, I’m glad those other teams are in a tough spot, it will make things more difficult for them to improve. If Benning hadn’t (frank)ed things up so badly the Canucks could have been in a much better spot to take advantage of those opportunities. But he did, and they aren’t, so deal with it.
