I like how Fitz is still moving on, maybe even getting another high paid player while Bratt contemplates his future. It appears Fitz isnt waiting on Bratt to upgrade the team. I like that mentality.

Who really knows if the devil's are actively looking to get MT and not just doing the hw to see if there was any interest

Probably just from a fan perspective. The way he plays gets everybody to hate him if he's not on your team. Also, the entire family holding out for money pisses the fans off too, although I don't really care.

I am fine with NJ not trading for Tkachuk. The cost is likely going to be way too high and defeat the whole point of bringing him here. A lot of Devs fans seem to be wanting the trade just to say NJ got the big name guy.

It takes a lot more than just bringing on a big name. Edmonton has McDavid AND Draisaitl and still can't make it to a Cup final let alone actually win one.

I think you are over thinking. He's only 24 and fits perfectly in our age and has tons of skill. If you can make the deal, do it. And we dont have a guy like him, he will bring a totally different element to our team.

Fitz is smart, hes not gonna sell the team for one player. But he did say he will make a big splash if he thinks the team is ready for that next step.

These seem to contradict. "If you can make the deal, do it." sounds like "I don't care what it costs, get him here!" I know he'd be a fantastic addition to what we have now, but I'm not willing to sell the team to bring any ONE player here.

Obviously if the price is right, pull the tigger, but it sounds like Calgary is getting better offers from other teams than what NJ should be comfortable parting with. If they want to be stupid and blow their team up for one guy to NOT win a Cup all by himself then more power to them.

We've made so much progress rebuilding the Devils and we're SO (frank)ing close to maturing our talent to becoming a legit threat. I'm not willing to tear that all down.
