Mailloux better be here for the long run now. You don't get to trade Romy and Mailloux. Mannn, Arber and Romy would've been a problem on the backend. Pain.

In the salary cap era, GM's may have the agreement to easily move players without breaking the bank. Giving them more leverage to move players with future salary demands. OTT is a rebuilding team like CHI so makes sense that CHI may have future deals with them in mind. |

Unorthodox trades that we still have a hard time rationalizing in this Salary Cap era.
This was never more evident than when Gary Bettman at the podium announced the Toronto/Chicago trade live.
When realizing that the Hawks received Mrazek AND the higher Draft Pick, Bettman hesitated and appeared perplexed. You could tell he looked backed down and had to make sure he was reading the trade correctly.
Salary Cap era trades are really hard to get used to, but are necessary. |

As reported by Peter Baugh of The Athletic, Salic made it clear yesterday that he expects Georgiev to be the starter. They didn't make that trade for a backup. Frankie is a great guy and a very good backup goalie but the Avs know he is not a starter. That's why Bednar heavily shelters his starts (he had 4 starts v playoff teams last regular season) and witness him playing worse every game of the WCF's v Edmonton. Why does it not shock me that, like most casual fans, Kev assumes Frankie will now start?
When do the Fleury to Avs rumors start? Do you guys have a set date or are you just gonna play it by ear? FleuryBuzz could make a bunch of extra money selling Playoff Money!!!(tm) ballcaps, especially if they can convince MAF to wear one when he's benched for the 4th year in a row in the playoffs.

With no hard cap it'll become like the MLB where only a select number of high spending teams can compete. |

The biggest winner may be Shane Wright. He gets to play for one of the best GM's and gets to be the future leader for the Kraken franchise playing for a friendly press and developing fanbase. |

Ottawa wins the trade IF they resign him to a 7-8 year deal below 8.5M |

Adrian Kempe had 35 goals last season playing on LA, and he gets 5.5M for 4 years. Wow. He should get a new agent |
